Does anyone know about the Betfair set up when it comes to Tasmania. Will it still be UK based re: opening accounts etc.

Currently, the money in your Betfair account uses one generic 'wallet'. In order to bet on Australian markets such as The Melbourne Cup and The Ashes, you will be asked to use an 'Australian wallet'. To move funds in and out of your Australian wallet, you simply click on the 'Transfer' button at the top of the homepage and transfer the amount you require. The transfer of money between wallets is instantaneous and free.

I've had reason to phone Betfair up three times over the last week or so & found them extremely polite & helpful, so am looking forward to their Australian operations going online, which I believe will be sometime this week or next.

PS. Deposits can be made via Australia Post, but not sure about withdrawals.
