![]() Great forum this is, NOT seems like one can't express thoughts on here without having them deleted.
I mentioned no names nor did I say a great deal yet my posting was deleted,so my only conclusion is that you lot at pro must be friends with EDITED [ This Message was edited by: quapi on 2003-07-26 13:21 ] |

![]() Don't entirely agree with rainlover on this.
In hindsight, I'm grateful that my posts on the subject were removed, even though I only used "initials".My comment on the "product" stands and surely one can at least comment/rubbish a product and the company marketing it without being personal[and I admit, I was]? I have seen products canned in this forum without being deleted. Surely there is no law against saying..."coke is a crappy drink" or does Rainlover have a point about "friends"? |

![]() Crash,
I didn't see the original post but maybe the difference here is, to use your analogy, the difference between saying: "Coke is cra##y" and "Mr XYZ (CEO of Coca-Cola) is a *#&$%!" The first is your opinion on the product and would not generally be classed as defamation. The second is implying something about an individual and would be defamation. Obviously as this forum is run by a business they could be sued for anything appearing on the forum so therefore they have to ensure it is not defamatory or illegal.

![]() "The terms of use" for this Forum has a clear legal disclaimer of opinions expressed here.
What I am not clear on and the question remains: Is it ok to say here: "I believe [meaning obviously in my subjective opinion only] such and such a product made by such and such company is useless" without any mention of personel. When I last checked, to do so in public [which includes proclaimed public forums], in this country was very legal indeed, but I'm not sure if management agrees or selectively agrees?
