nice one ukausracefan !
a win and a place...
I like the maidens, cant understand why people have a negative image of them.
I'd far prefer to stick money on a maiden than on the Melbourne Cup
but then I'm mad

see ya

Gday Every Topic..

I kinda like the maidens as well.. but i have probs factoring in 1st starters.. so I leave em alone.. Those 1st starters can leave ya with egg all over your face at times (speaking from the pocket here)..

I like maiden betting as well but only for longshots, i never take anything shorter then around the $8.00 mark unless i am very very confident and it has the services of a top jock aboard.

I like backing maidens who have had 1 race where they finished way back in the field especially when they started that race under 15/1 or thereabouts, this also applies to maidens second up from a spell, you will be amazed at the number of long priced winners you get, i have one i will never forget backing earlier in the year at Muswellbrook, paid about $126.50 for the win if my memory serves me correct.
