![]() had a fair spell off the punt for the 1st time in years, partly due to ei, partly due to having had enough.
back as of last monday laying away on betfair & the obvious change, which i am sure many here have also noticed, is that the pools esp on ordinary midweek events have increased greatly - case in point the 1st at taree today, a dirty old maiden (one of my fav's) - there was $15k matched with 5min till the jump. i rarely remember pool sizes like that prior to my break, could be due somewhat to the reduced number of meets, but still its great to see & so far i have found it much easier to get set at the prices i am after. |

Still run by a 'few' though in regards to 'stacking' bets midweek. They can get away with it midweek. I am refering to those that stack a few thousand on the lay side to keep the price down then jump over to the bet side to catch those poor unsuspcting out by laying. This works vice versa when they want to get on i.e. stacking the bet side to push prices then jump over a the end to 'get on' at a hopefully inflated price. It happens everywhere i know (sharemarket etc) If you can see past these few & most regulars will, i still rate betfair as the best betting tool in the market in regards to following the smart money. I did enjoy watching the mug chase the punters from $2.30 >> $2.54 and then some before they jumped in the 1st @ Taree...... he got smacked! |

![]() kc, interesting points you make, do notice some "strange" happenings from time to time,
as to the fav in the 1st at taree, had the mare clearly & easily rated on top & was happy to lay around it esp the 7 - last placings all 7 - they never win! |

![]() the 7's thing was a joke btw, just being silly whilst having a good day
still if anyone could run the numbers just out of interest - no7 & last 3 placings = 777 |

![]() Got whacked well and truly by a horse in England that had two duck eggs next to it and was 7/1.
I thought surely this horse was underpriced in a flat race at Wolverhampton. It led all the way and just clung on. As for the market manipulators both here and in the UK, the risk is tremendous. Application freeze, pc freeze, Betfair goes down, Internet goes down, some bookie plonks on the overpriced (to him) favourite. Another manipulator is waiting for the manipulee's money. All a recipe for disaster. If you browse the forum, it's obvious a few have been caught out recently.

![]() I was laying around the favourites, because of recent results.
I just found out that form goes completely out the window at Wolverhampton, it's a synthetic tight track and some horses fire there and others don't, perhaps one should stick to laying favourites there only ![]()
