Being wide on a better surface away from the ruck might be an advantage in this race that will be run on a rain affected track.

Last year:Sniper's Bullet 16, El Cambio 19 and Murtajill barrier 23.

This is one race where the barriers aren't as big of a disadvantage as the can be in other races, there is plenty of speed in hs so the field should et spread out pretty early so don't be surprised if horses like El Cambio, Helideck and Diplomatic Force go forward and manage to settle in a decent position I think they all will need to to have any chance anyway so as they can take advantage of their weight advantage over horses like Swick, Casino Prince and Sniper's Bullet (I think Sniper's will go back in this years version)

Another sunny bay in Brissie looking good for Saturday but there are a few showers forcasted

I've been trying to work out a speed map and it hasnt shown up any major surprises.
I hope they take advantage of the inside Barrier with Pinnacles,,,he should be 4 back on the rail ,,this for a horse like him is usually a worry but with the speed up front likely to string them out more than usual he'll get the chance to get to them quickly and with a split he'll be in the finish..
Vormista is another that should again be near pinnacles and trying to get the same sort of run..
Sniper's Bullet will be ridden agressively,,Tracey wants him ridden that way and his campaign in Sydney proved this,,,he can follow Omnitrader over and get behind the speed.
Casino Prince gets a gun run..probably 2 out with cover ,,and i doubt this time he'll let them go around him and box him in..
Atapi isn't hampered by the barrier,,he'll drop out ,,as predicted earlier he'll be the one weaving through the field,,
Swick is the same,,hes capable in the big field to do this though,,he might go wide with Double Dare and this will be the long way..

Mr Baritone gets probably the best run behind them and is racing very well,,he's one for your exotics.,,another the same is Black Ink .

Horses i think might do it tuff in running,,,Helideck , El Cambio , Diplomatic force , Chinchilla Rose,,German Chocolate..Ab glam..

I'm risking Double Dare as i just dont think he can make the ground he needs to in the Straight as he needs to go around them,,horses like Swick and Atapi can go through the field..

The best of the frontrunners has to be Murty,,he can, from what i hear take the sit ,,he might let Swiss aaa and Omni go and tuck in behind them,,

5 chances for me so far Swick , Casino Prince , Atapi, Snipers Bullet , Vormista,,,,in the markets Snipers bullet the best value.

Place chances, Murty , Mr Baritone , Double Dare , Black Ink..

I don't think Swick has won a race since Adam was a boy.

last November Crash in the big sprint down the flemo straight..huge finishing burst to win that race,,he likes the long straight and they seem to think that he races best on the fresh side..hes only had about 4 races since then..

i loved his last run chasing Apache Cat,,,that was off a slow pace and he really hit the line...

think hes the record holder at sandown over this distance,, 82 flat...i dont want it to wet for him though...

Yes, Swick's run was very good last start but it will probably be a rain affected track and he always seems to promise more than he delivers.

Pinnacles seems the obvious pick but as we all know in any race, 'obvious' has a bad habit of getting beaten.

I would be very surprised if the track for the straddie is worse than a dead 3, as we have had nothing but clear sunny skies all day and high winds at nite for the last 3days and the same expected tomorrow. Im only 2 blocks from Eagle Farm and tghe weather is exceptional and that track has the best draining preperation facilities in the land. Would not be surprised to see the track upgraded by straddie time, to possibly even GOOD.

If this is the case i would think Oliver just has to stay out of trouble, with Double Dare the knockout horse for me.

Good Luck

"As a punter, do you ever sit down in the cold hard light of day and ask yourself one simple question: How can a man who works five hours in a normal week, maybe ten in a big week be worth 20 times what the punter who is betting with him, is worth, yet the punter can work his or her butt off for 50 or 60 hours a week? How is it possible to “work” a maximum of only five or ten hours a week, yet be a multi millionaire? The answer is simple - a bookmaker only needs to “work” five hours a week per meeting to earn a good living, as there will always be mug punters eager to donate to his coffers. The bloke, or woman, who works 40 or 60 hours a week doesn’t get time to have a “midday matinee” - or go to the club - for a three or four hour lunch, but the wealthy bookmaker certainly does.

Bookmakers really enjoy Carnival time, as the non-thinking punters are out in droves. The bookies lay their dingo traps and one by one cash strapped punters - hapless poor aaaaaas - often half full of alcohol and bad manners, walk up to place copious numbers of red and gold notes into the big white bag that they have at the front of their stand. Have you ever sat down and wondered how much cash would actually fit in a “big white bag”? Believe me - literally hundreds of thousands of dollars would fit."

Purser.

Happy with my picks ...I got 12's for Swick and i've taken that,,,i'll hope for even better on track tomorrow ..Pinnacles at 21's is looking good...
I doubt i'll back anything else unless the track is rated a good dead then i might chase a price for Atapi..
Heard they are going to ride double Dare alittle closer ,,this i think will give him atleast a chance in this field..he would be just to far back otherwise and would have circle the whole field..its a risk as he might resent being pushed early but i'm puting him in my exotics anyway...
Looks a great race and i just hope the rain stays away..
