14:42 Newcastle R4 No2 Waikiki Beach (1)
14:46 Flemington R6 No9 Seventh Rock (1) - superbly bred type by Rock Of Gibraltar out of the G1 winning Rubiton mare Ruby Clipper who also won three other times in Group company, won the time honoured Gold Medalion at Scottsville in South Africa over 6f in a very quick 1m7.7s, the same race as won by National Currency who tested Silent Witness at its peak when 2nd to it in the international sprint, very smart type now with Hayes and has a blistering turn of foot, should get a good trip tracking in better than midfield, will be the one they have to chase down in deep stretch, big overs, awesome value.
14:46 Flemington R6 No11 Wilander (1) - comes into this having its 6th career start and 1st up from a spell after beating older horses in G2 company last start at Caulfield over 1000m, found plenty hitting the line very hard over 1000m to just get the better of Lucky Secret close home, showed abundant speed at first 2 starts including a 2.3l wire to wire G3 score over Exceedingly Good, has big scope for further improvement and likely to be suited by its ability to adapt to a fast early pace, can stalk or lead with equal effect, very well bred by Exceed And Excel out of the top class Scandanavia.
14:50 Coonamble R7 No5 Mr Resilient (1)
15:22 Newcastle R5 No8 Slippery Madam (1)
15:26 Flemington R7 No1 Gallica (2) - very well bred by Redoute's Choice out of the Kingmambo mare Swing Queen, resumes from a spell here over the 1400m trip and drops sharply in class on its last start win over 1600m in Group 1 3yo fillies company (Thousand Guineas), start prior won the G2 Edward Manifold, keeps improving hitting a new peak each start, doesnt need to be at peak to beat these, likely for a good trip on pace tracking an even pace, in this up to its ears.

USA Bets For Friday

13:15 Gulfstream R1 No9 Wild Lisa (2) - lightly raced improver who comes into this off a career mark of 8-2-0-0 and on the back of winning last start at Calder over 1 mile, held rail in a mild speed battle through the early and middle stages before skipping clear into the stretch and extending its magin to 1.5l on the wire, put a further 8l back to 3rd who came out and won next start franking the form out of the rac,e likely to get it soft on the front end with little seen speed engaged, well bred compared to foes by Wilds Again out of a Rare Performer mare, at peak fitness and in this up to its ears.
13:44 Gulfstream R2 No4 Divine Master (1) - comes into this 1st up from a spell on the back of winning 4 of last 6 at end of last prep including a 3.5l score over 1m on the good turf at Monmouth in Optional Claiming $50K company, stalked a clear leader in 2nd that day and kicked away with a superior turn of foot in early stretch extending the margin all the way to the line, only one other seen leader here will provide a perfect trip tracking or coleading at an even tempo, will prove hard to run down, minor query about value prepost but looks the best of these.
14:12 Gulfstream R3 No14 Jungle Raj (1)
14:12 Gulfstream R3 No5 Classy Orientation (1)
14:42 Gulfstream R4 No1 Fortune Rose (1) - a fair few seen chances in this field of 8 but it is Fortune Rose who is drawn the rail and gets the chance to go straight to the front and dictate proceedings, having 3rd career start here and resumes from a spell, on debut at Woodbine over 1m1/16th dictated a slightly below par tempo getting 5l clear entering the stretch, battled on strong one paced down the lane extending the margin to 10l on the line in Mdn$73K company, well bred by Bertrando out of a Argentinian bred Salt Marsh mare, other major query runners can be found on various angles but this ticks a lot of boxes and warrants support at the decent each way price prepost.
15:12 Gulfstream R5 No2 Armonk (1)
15:12 Gulfstream R5 No7 Russian Rosie (1)
15:42 Gulfstream R6 No3 C.S. Silk (1) - the pace will be very fast here suiting one that can either handle high pressure or track leaders and show a sharp turn of foot, leant towards this one who is 1st up from a spell over the 7f trip facing G2 company, broke maiden at 2nd start when tracked leaders over 6f and kicked on to win by 6l in $41KMdn company, totally franked that next start winning over 1m after a 2 month break scoring in G3 company at Arlington by 6l, dictated from the front that day at a hectic tempo well above par, next start dropped out after leading in the BC Juv Fillies division, last start died on its run close home when 2nd btn 2.5l in G3 company, has produced 3 bullet works out of 4 in prep for return, ticks a lot of boxes, well bred by hot young sire Medaglia D'Oro out of a Settlement Day mare.
16:12 Gulfstream R7 No5 Kickapoo (1)
16:12 Gulfstream R7 No1 Fitzaslew (1)
16:43 Gulfstream R8 No1 Break Water Edison (2) - comes into this resuming from a spell, go on 2nd up effort last prep when btn 1.2l over 6.5f in G2 company with a further big gap of 5.7l back to 3rd adding depth and merit to the form around the first two home that day, only btn 4.7l 4th in G1 company next start then scored at last start in G3 company by 1.7l, likely to get a good trip tracking the speed from better than midfield, suited to the 7f trip, produced a bullet work doing its last peice over 3 panels on 28 Jan, well bred by Lemon Drop Kid out of a Storm Creek mare, $525K 2yo purchase at Ocala in 2008, ticks a lot of boxes for this, well placed.
Santa Anita R1 PP5 Cold Ruler (3) - lightly raced improver who comes into this having its 3rd career start on the back of last start finishing 3rd btn 2.5l by African Grey over the same track and distance it faces here, winner franked the form making it 2 on end next start suggesting the $32K Mdn Clm tag carried that day was strong for the class, subject to considerable improvement for fitness and race experience, likely to get a soft trip on the front end and kick hard into deep stretch under the pace scenario making it hard to run down, very well bred by Empire Maker out of the Sadlers Wells mare Frost Flower who was unraced but from a very good family, very hard to beat here.
Santa Anita R2 PP3 Exquisite (1) - open affair with form refs coming from everywhere, leant towards the NZ shipper Exquisite who comes into this 1m turf $56K Allowance off a 2 month lay off, 2 back broke through in $49K allowance company by as neck after pulling fiercely midrace when leading at a well below par tempo, found plenty under pressure, likely to be better acclimatized and improve further again here, deceivingly well bred for turf by Golan out of a Kaapstad mare, Golan is hot in NZ currently and Kaapstad has won sire titles there previously and consistently is a top3/4 NZ sire who best can win at G1 level in Australia on the turf, should get a good trip on pace either coleading at a slow tempo or tracking a slow tempo -1l to -2l, happy to be on in an open affair.
Santa Anita R3 Pp5 Band Of Thunder (2) - consistently thereabouts against stronger last few and switches off the turf here back to a more suitable surface, go on effort 6 back at Fairplex Park tracked leader through on the rail to get 1l cldear in early stretch over 6.5f before cloearing out to score by 2l in Optional Claiming $40K company, clearly up to the required class to win here and holding form well with a career mark of 29-9-6-5 and $200k in stakes, suited by a similar trip here tracking leadings at an even pace, well bred type by Point Given out of the Dixieland Band mare Golden Band, minor query yet to win at Santa Anita in 5 attempts.
Santa Anita R4 PP3 Wild Apart (1)
Santa Anita R5 PP2 Suit Yourself (1) - 4th up from a spell here and at peak fitness now on the back of last start closing with big pars in deep stretch coming from off the pace over 6.5f to score going away by 1.2l on the wire, overall pace was slowish that day adding good depth and merit to the win against the pace bias, 2 preps ago was only 3l and 4l off winning in $62K claming company, this a big drop from that level still despite rise in class on last start win, decently bred by Storm Cat line stallion Tribal Rule out of a Man From Eldorado mare, likely to get behind a fastish pace here which suits its off the pace style, ticks enough bozes to suggest it can make the next step here.
Santa Anita R6 PP4 Scibelli (1)
Santa Anita R6 No5 Sterkel (1)
Santa Anita R7 No1 Rail Trip (1) - lightly raced improver who comes into this having 3rd career start on the back of winning both so far by 3.5l each time over 6.5f, last time out in $38K Allowance company, asked to extend to the 1m/1/16th route trip here and suited under the pace scenario, drawn the rail to find the front under a slowish pace, 3rd home last start has since come out and won again next start franking the form of this ones 2nd win, also well bred by hot young son of AP Indy, Jump Start out of a Carson City mare.

Bit harsh there. Never looked likely of winning. Marcus, the bloke who rode it, ran 2nd in the next race.

13:00 Ballarat R1 No4 Miraculous Miss (1)
13:35 Ballarat R2 No7 Bishop Of Derry (1) -
13:53 Canterbury R1 No9 Coco Kerringle (1) - lightly raced improver by Exceed and Excel out of the Dolphin Street mare Dol, comes into this having its 2nd career start on the back of fatlering after setting a hot pace on debut in the Strawberry Hill Magic Million Prelude at Randwick, winner of 3 very impressive trial efforts outside of that debut run, has abundant early speed, every chance of going wire to wire especially with blinkers removed, got way too fired up setting a suicidal pace last time out.
13:53 Canterbury R1 Trifecta - Boxed 1,4,5,6,8,9
14:10 Ballarat R3 No11 Spirit Bay (1) - has been knocking on the door for sometime now and likely to go around a decent price here with merit around form refs well hidden, 3 back just missed against similar then finished 1.7l 4th at Caulfield to Our Lona, form refs back through the btn brigade suggest run full of merit for what it faces here, overly well bred by Invincible Spirit out of the River Rough mare White Water Bay, drawn well for a good trip likely closer to an the speed, Newitt booked.
14:10 Ballarat R3 No3 Elusive Burst (1) - 1st start by hot young sire Elusive City out of a Flying Spur mare, well drawn with good hoop Ivan Culliver booked for the astute Robbie Griffiths yard, has claims and likely at a good price.
14:10 Ballarat R3 Trifecta - 1st 3,4,11,12 / 2nd & 3rd 1,2,3,4,8,11,12
14:28 Canterbury R2 No9 Sobo (1)
14:28 Canterbury R2 Trifecta - Boxed 7,8,9,10
14:45 Ballarat R4 No7 Definitive (1) - makes a sharp drop in grade here for its 2nd up assault for the astute Moody yard, 3rd up last prep finished 1.8l 3rd to The Tiger over 1500m on this track, big margins further back and the subsequent strong form of the other 2 place getters suggest Definitive is up to breaking maiden grade against the lot it faces here, well bred by Redoute's Choice out of the Citidancer mare Mascara Magic, 3/4 brother to smart 2yo of this season Shadow Assassin who was an unlucky 4th in the Magic Millions 2yo classic and start prior won the Magic Millions prelude on Boxing day in Sydney.
14:45 Ballarat R4 Quinella - 7 with 2,8,11,14
15:03 Canterbury R3 No4 Dance On Waves (2) - lightly raced improver having 2nd career start and 1st up from a spell here, comes into this ready to fire on the back of winning a trial over the Group class Love And Kisses by 0.8l, only career start so far was 2nd to the potential topliner Palacia De Cristral btn 2.5l, that day tracked a slow tempo and lost its position on the turn before making big headway once the penny dropped in the stretch, obviously well above average and breeding suggests same by Anabaa out of Ancient Lights, Nikolic booked for the astute Gerald Ryan camp and drawn a good gate to get a nice trip tracking the speed.
15:03 Canterbury R3 Quinella - 4 with 5,6,10
15:20 Ballarat R5 No4 Crown Ruby (1) - toughish kind of affair with form references coming from everywhere, leant towards Crown Ruby on top, now 4th up at peak fitness and effort 2 back when 3rd btn 2.7l at Caulfield over 1100m by Dane On Air suggest it is up to winning in this company, maor queries around Running Riot and Code Black but this one seems to have the edge on exposed form, likely for a good trip tracking the speed from midfield.
15:20 Ballarat R5 Quinella - 3,4,9
15:40 Canterbury R4 No3 Starry Light (1)
16:00 Ballarat R6 No10 Oceans Seven (1)

16:40 Ballarat R7 Quinella - 1,4,12
17:20 Ballarat R8 No9 You Or Me (2) - lightly raced improver who comes into this 2nd up from a spell and subject to improvement on 1st up effort when came from well off the pace over 1300m to hit the front along the inside 150m out and extend the margin in deep stretch hitting the line strongly, well bred by More Than Ready out of the Marauding mare Zena Warrior, 1st foal, well drawn from the 3 alley with competent hoop Dwayne Dunn booked for astute placer of horses Rick Hore-Lacy, ticks a lot of boxes, best bet on the card.
17:20 Ballarat R8 Quinella - 9 with 3,8,13

England's tour of The West Indies hots up in a few days time when the 1st test starts in a 4 match series. Statistically this series is a very much lopsided affair in favour of a more experienced and battle hardened English side. One of the biggest advantages England carries into this match is the batting strength of their keeper (M Prior) and the total of 5 seen allrounders in the squad. They have plenty of options to turn too if things start to go haywire at any stage during the series whilst the West Indies are low on experience and clearly an inferior side despite playing at home. The major pros and cons for each team is as follows
West Indies Pros & Cons
Disadvantages
* No batsmen average over 50 and only 3 hover around or over 40
* 1 bowler averages below 35
* Will struggle to score 400 in an innings of a test
* Will struggle to bowl sides out twice.
Advantages
* Playing at home
England Pros & Cons
Disadvantages
* Playing away from home
Advantages
* 6 batsmen average over 40
* 1 batsmen averages over 50
* 5 bowlers in starting 11 capable of taking wickets consistently
* Will bowl sides out, especially weak batting sides like WI
* 5 allrounders in the squad, plenty of options and added depth to batting and bowling
* Wicketkeeper who is a high class batsmen capable of making big scores, adds further depth to batting
The pros and cons when looked at the averages for each player in each team suggest a English series win and a fairly comfortable one at that.
It is hard to see the West Indies winning a test and England should be capable of consistently bowling the West Indies out twice. We think the series with these major factors taken into consideration will end up a 3-0 win to England or less likely a 4-0 win to England. One of those two results is likely to be the end result.
England at 1.63 straight out look a good bet as series winner.
The 1st test also looks a good bet for England to win as they are currently 2.25 to win the 1st game of the series.
