Thumbs up Who's your roughie for the big ones?

I've been watching some of the nom's for the big ones this spring go around in the mid week races for the last couple of weeks and just wondered if anyone had anything they like down in the betting?

I had a little e/w bet this morning on a horse nom'd for the cup that had its 3rd start today in Kyneton. Might have been a waste of money but it won today and came in from $300-1 on tabsportsbet to $150 and from $400 on some of the other online bookies to $100. Its name is DARCARWASHA and it was first up today over 1850m and won untouched. Its last start it never got a crack at them going around in a 2040m race at Mooney Valley and somehow kept coming through the field to get 2nd. For a horse at its second start the fact it could get held up like it did and still hit the line was pretty impressive. Anyway I thought it was worth a ticket at $300-1

Another I had a little e/w bet at is IRAZU @ $200. I actually had a bet on it last year as well. It has a pretty decent record in longer races at Flemington with a win in the Bart Cummings over 2400m and a .3l 2nd to Maybe Better in the SAAB the year Maybe Better finished 3rd in the cup. Also had an unlucky second in the Sydney Cup 2yrs ago. I know sydney cup winners don't have a good record in the cup so it's probably a good thing he didnt win.

Please fell free to post up any you have found (after you have backed them of course!)

Oh and note to management, if any of these horses I've posted win the big one please deposit the $50 for my post of the month into the account under the name H. Whisperer. Thanks.

One horse I have had a bit of time for in the past who made a nice return on saturday is Volcanic Star he is currently sitting around the $200 mark and could be a smokie if he can get to the cups in one piece.

Another one I thought might be a bit of a roughie is Naval Escort switched stables from David Payne to Bart Cummings this spring and who can knock anything the master trains he is currently sitting around the $150 mark right now.

these aren't picks i would want to throw my house or anything but they are rough chances for the race, As far as Irazu goes i was on him the day he placed in the Sydney Cup and the Saab he has ability but has also had 2 suspensory injuries aswell.

As was I raw, hence why I'm still looking at it for the cup this year, and had a little e/w bet last year. The thing is, at the price some of these horses are you don't need to put your house on them to get a nice collect

Typhoon Tracey won't stay 2400 let alone 3200.

Fullmonti at 121/1 could swamp them in the Epsom if he starts in it - seems to have been up forever though.

Stakhanovite always finishes on (except his last run). Probably should be at existing price of 301/1 in Melb Cup but seems like he might stay.

I noticed this morning that DARCARWASHA has firmed again from $151 into $101 with tabsportsbet.

Darcarwash is running on Sunday in Race 5 Carnvourne.

Percentums pick Fulmonti is running on Saturday in Race 6 Rosehill

I don't mind So You Think as a rough chance in the Cox Plate, winning tomorrow will probably cut his odds a little. $35 look alright at the moment.

Anymore picks post them up guys.

I agree Denning re Speed Gifted, think its a massive chance in the Caulfield Cup. If it wins the CC ive got a few double going into the Melbourne Cup with it, Unsung Heroine and Darcarwasha and also into So you think in the Cox Plate.
