No takers?. OK I'll put forward my theory.
His Grand Dam is Eight Carat, so a link to diamonds there. Lonrho is a London based company that owns & operates diamond mines in Zimbabwe, formally Rhodesia. The name is made up of LONdon/RHOdesia. So if Lonhro is named after this company then his name has been spelt incorrectly. That's if. It's possible as the Ingham horse are usually well named. Makr. |

Hi Mark, pretty new here..
Yes you are correct about the naming of lonhro. DOnt ask me where i heard it though, but the name was spelled incorrectly for a reason. Apparently the company involved is quite litigious and so a letter or two was swapped just in case. Hope this helps |

probably right.
tiny rowlands ran the london/rhodesia company and he was the guy that put the frighteners on alan bond. bond was looking (allegedly() at a takeover and rowlands accused him of being insolvent. the rest is history. |

Mark,
You're incorrect. Lonhro is latin for Cubic Zirconia. |
