Hi Benny,
It seems you didn't receive any responses via the Forum on your request for info on the revised Victorian ratings. Were you able to obtain this information some other way? All I can find on the Victorian Racing site are the January 2013 Handicapping Guide, and an updated Class Based Template from August 2013. I would be very interested in anything you have found that is more recent. As an aside, I think all the State's ratings/benchmarks need to be revamped every few years, as it seems the ratings gradually go down over time. If NSW had not gone to Benchmarks (just a new ratings base), they would be programming Rating 30 races to cater for horses which had reached this lower level, not because their form had deteriorated, but simply because the ratings compress over time. Does that match your experience with ratings? Cheers, Jackact |

Personally with all the recent changes in ratings and the diversity between States, the best way is to be your own handicapper and have your own ratings tables. That way, one can get consistent benchmarks.
