Deo Favente is a favourite of mine as well especially now...
I was real lazy today and just put my Bookers with field..Stepping, Mr Ponsford , Deo Favente , Full of honour and Stamen ...with $100 straight out on them....huge day for me today...makes up for a disasterous day yesterday.
might look at this field betting more closely ...more expensive but theres no way i would of picked those tris

With the magical day you had yesterday Sporty i would of just watched today...no one has that much luck still left in them.

What do you mean by taking your selection with the field? Do you just have your selection on top or as a rover? That's gotta cost heaps???

Just as a banker ...roving costs more
about 3 times as much....
easy to work out the cost
No of picks
x No of picks for 2nd -1
x No of picks for 3rd -2

Mr ponsford Tri cost me $36 for a 1/2
if i roved it would of cost $108 for 1/2 so you really are hoping for a couple of roughies to fill the places.

Te Stamen tri costs twice as much because it was a large field.

I've been doing this alot lately ..theres nothing worse than being super confident on a horse to win and missing out on the tri because some donkey has jagged a place.

Yeah, I know how to work it out. I just wasn't sure if you took your horse only for first or as a rover. Actually doesn't cost as much as I thought it would, but it's still pretty scary though. If your horse wins you win big, but if it gets pipped in a photo, you lose the lot.

I used to do alot of field trifetas, but found whenever i'd pick the winner two well fancied horses would come second and third and i end up getting far less then a win bet. I mostly do win bets and all ups nowadays, although you do still have the chance to jag that huge tri especially in a big field.

Hi. Of the 4 original plans, A was the best. Basically, with those new rules, I've simply combined Plans A and B into one and deleted plans C and D altogether. I also added a few new rules. Still not completely satisfied with it but let's see how it goes.

Mr Ed, I had a look at a couple of the trifectas that Mav must have got yesterday and I was amazed at the divs. If I thought I could get divs something like that, then I'd be tempted to give field trifectas a go too. I think I'm too cautious though to just have one horse on top, especially if it's not the fav. I was very confident about Elvestroem on Saturday, but I still wasn't game enough to take him as a banker.

Hi Mr Ed...in dont usually go the field if my runner is short unlees i think the other favs are vulnerable....Stamen was the exception yesterday but it was a Cup so the Tris are usually pretty good.
still i usually have about $100 on the win just incase my selection shortens (Like Mr Ponsford yesterday) and the tri doesnt pay all that much...
You can see by my old thread that i usually go for mulitple selections in my tris..but i was still missing..the field has its risks but if you have a win bet as well you can easily cover a small tri divi...
Today i had Genuinely with the field but had a win bet aswell that made a nice collect.if i went just the tri i wouldn't of made anything.. still when your selection runs second a few times with roughies filling the places it can be very frustrating..
