Paddy,

You didn't tell us you owned a horse! Paddy's Venture went around in Race 6 at Esk today - was well backed (shortened from around $13 on NSWTAB 5 minutes out to about $6 at jump time) but finished towards the back of the field.

Needs a bit more work Paddy

Apologies becareful, only just noticed your post.

Paddy’s Venture? Not a bad name for a horse – not mine though!

Reminds me of when I almost did purchase a horse. Well at least in partnership with my leprechaun mate, Liam.

Some might consider this little story a wee bit rude, so if you’re easily offended, keep scrolling BUT look away.

Where was I?

Ah that’s right…Liam had been pestering me for ages to go halves in a horse, so eventually I gave in and agreed to go with him to one of the better stud farms not too far away.

Did I tell you that Liam’s got a bit of a speech impediment, don’t notice it that much, except when Liam gets a wee bit too excited.

Well we get there and things are pretty quite, so the owner shows us around. We must have seen a dozen or so horses without much joy. The guy showing around starts to get a wee bit impatient by this time, must admit I was growing a bit weary myself.

All of a sudden Liam spots a really nice looking filly, and rushes over all excited, dragging the owner with him and me a little further behind.

"Nith looking horth” says Liam “can I see her mouth?"

The owner picks up Liam and shows him the horse's mouth.

"Nith mouth. Can I see her eyesth?" says Liam.

So the owner picks up Liam again, and shows him the filly’s eyes.

"OK, what about the earsth?" says Liam.

Now the owner is getting a wee bit peeved by this time, but obliges, picks up Liam once again and shows Liam the filly’s ears.

"OK, finally, I'd like to see her twat." says Liam. Oh my god I think to myself!

With that, the owner picks Liam up and shoves Liam’s head up the horse's you know where, and then pulls him out.

At this point Liam is standing there in a state of shock, but then eventually shakes his head, and says to the owner

"Perhapth I should rephrase. I'd like to see her run!"

By this time I’m rolling around in a fit of laughter!

We still haven’t bought that horse!!
