For my purposes, I preferred the old method also. They now seem to be covering every aspect of noms, acceptances, etc, in every state.
Works ok, but just takes longer than before for me to organise. I'll get used to it. Email RISA for help, if the new format will not operate on your computer. |

[QUOTE=Imagele]Why the Racing services bureau or anyone in the racing industry would want to stop punters from getting access to information in a useful form is beyond me.
Hi Imagele! Just as a matter of interest I logged on the RSB site to see the problem but! using Firefox as a browser. It allowed me to highlight the fields and copy them, paste it into Excel and they come up formatted one item/cell. Hope it helps! I used to get the fields a few days in advance to find double nominations. Cheers |

Can you highlight and paste these fields into word in a table format that allows you to work within cells? I am not familiar with the workings of excel. I have installed Opera and find I can highlight and copy but when pasted, there is no table. |

Unfortunately No! I don't have Opera, used Firefox, but if you can copy, it should work. You do not have to know anything about using Excel only how to open it. Once you copied your fields just right click in a field in Excel (preferably top left) and paste. After that just treat it as a doc. I don't use Excel myself I am working with Access database. This change has stuffed me up a bit as well. I can write a programme to extricate the info I want but that's not the point, I can't see any reason for the change and if anything they (RSB) would have alianated a lot of people by this move. Cheers! |

If you are able to copy and paste the items i would do it to a plain text document then import that document to excels you will be able to seperate the items in to culumns this way

I have been playing around with excel.
The main problem seems to be not being able to write comments in the cell containing the horses name. I know comments can be added but they seem to remain hidden until clicked upon. Under the old system with word I could change the font size and abridge trainer's and jockey's names to provide ample space in the table with added columns. |

Imagele! You can do all that in Excel as well, please spend a few hours learning how to use it. You can write anything in any cell and you can also format it, make it bold and add colours etc. I am by no means an expert on Excel and don't use it but I tell you once you get the hang of it you will ask yourself why you did not use it before. There is just so much more you can do you could not do in word. Beleive me it's easy. Shaun would probably the one to ask about help on Excel. |
