I'd want him to show some glint of running on. I think you'll see the real deal in the next run or so.

As good as he is, I feel he is more dour now, and the Melbourne Cup is more his go after the Caulfield Cup. The Cox plate is won by the best horse in the land, or a Kiwi... Grandera sounds promising, but will risk. The cream comes to the top here, and either Sunline, Lonhro, Notherly, or Defier should win! What a race!!!

I wouldn't want to be standing on the track at the 100 metre mark!

I love those guys with the eyes Equine Investor, that is the face you would have at the 100 if standing at the 50, hahaha... Anyway, I think you are right. She really showed more than she had to last start being only 95% fit, and as much as I like Lonhro, would love to see her win. Doubt I will have a bet in the race, just too good to bet. Worry about her if Grandera takes her on though. I doubt he can, but she gets nasty when challenged (remember Fairway, and Vicount/Northerly and what's worse, El Mirada!)... Just hope it is truly run, as she deserves to go out on a high. What a champion! Still that Defier is something is he not? And then there is Northerly, I can't beleive it, too good to be true!

Gee, I fancy UP in the Melbourne Cup.

No hype this year and I feel this has been his target from day 1 of this prep. However, I am concerned that he will start in the cup on a light preparation. The maximum racing metres in his legs, to my way of thinking, will be about 8000.

His maturity has made hime more dour and I believe that this is his best chance of winning a major handicap.

If there is no repeat of last year and he jumps - he is in it with a huge chance
