Minnows shock Aussies
By Adam Cooper in Cardiff
June 19, 2005

AUSTRALIAN cricket has hit a new low with a loss to Bangladesh in the tri-series one-day match at Cardiff's Sophia Gardens ground overnight.

The minnows posted their greatest ever win - just their 10th from 108 matches - when they overhauled Australia's 5-249 with five wickets and four deliveries to spare.

What a disgrace!!!

Hopefully this will have knocked some of the arrogance and complacency out of the Australians. Their play so far on this tour has been atrocious.

Well, some on here criticised me last year when I dared to suggest that England were a great chance of taking the Ashes. While it's better for Australia to have this shocking run early on and they can recover, I genuinely think that England are a BIG chance of winning both the Tests and the One-dayers. I sincerely hope that I am proven to be 100% wrong about this, but in any case, I really can't believe the odds at the moment. No way do Australia deserve to be such short priced favourites.

Imagine what the English newspapers must be saying today.

I can't get over the total arrogance of deciding to bat first last night. They were great conditions to bowl first, but Ponting just wanted to give his players 'batting practice' and obviously thought that Australia would just win no matter what. Bet he wishes he could have that decision again.

Well played Bangladesh.

Australia's arrogance got what it deserved. A whooping by the Minnows of world cricket. Bangladesh deserves their place in world cricket and this should really boost their confidence going into their next game.

If we don't beat the Poms tonight we are farked!

Congratulations to Bangladesh!

I think it fair to mention the arrogance of TABsportsbet also. Not offering a market on the winner of this game. It should not happen again.

So why the hell are the Aussies favourites to beat England tonight.

England $2.20
Australia $1.62

That is just not right, I am tipping the Aussies will bounce back tonight. But at $1.62 it seems a bit short.

Are you sure about that? I know Centrebet and a couple of other bookies that I checked had H/H odds on the game. I remember last week in the Rugby, Sportodds had NZ at $1.001 against Fiji. I'd never seen that before. Personally, as long as there are two teams on the field, there is always some chance of an upset, no matter how impossible it seems.

I have no idea. On form, they should be rank outsiders. They may well bounce back tonight, but they are absolutely NO value at all!!!

Sportz, I checked for a head to head margin on last nights game and couldn't find one on tabsportsbet. It isn't shown in recent results either, for that matter I don't believe they offered a head to head on the England Vs Bangladesh either.

As for Australia. I have faith and am backing them with the play money in the punters comp only!

sportsacumen.com was offering 1.00 moneyback for head to head....

centrebet was offering 1.01 , i know because i was stupid enough to have $2000 on them... i thought it would be an easy 20 bucks made overnight
