I agree umrum,
This horse is /was undeniably one of the greats. Let's not forget that we on the east coast acknowledged his credentials for being recognised as one of the "greats." As far as "champion," well, I'm sorry, but the jury is still out. I still think that he was a horse , if handled better, would have eclipsed some of the records of our more recent "champions."
