Smile Pre-Post Prices

Can anyone tell me, or does anyone know where I can find information on how the Pre-Post prices in newspapers and for bookies markets are calculated??

We see them printed everywhere, and are a fundamental part of racing in all codes, but who calculates them, and what formulas do they use?

I've tried Google but didn't get anywhere

Somebody must know how to do it

Kind Regards
