Question Time To do Ratings

I read with much interest the actual time it takes to do the Ratings and Prices for 1 race .... 1 to 2 minutes ....I find this astonishing .... I take anything up to 30 minutes to do a 14 horse feild .....I use a spreadsheet and believe there are too many variances for horse to be rated on ....thought from ones brain to me is the greatest input 1 can have ...ie: slow beginner from barrier 1 over 1400 at Flemington ...Penalty say 3kgs fast beginner from Barrier 9 with 3 good beginners inside penalty 4.5 kgs...how can 1 program stuff like that ...I use 7 steps to come to my final rating for each horse ...after which my prices take only about a minute to finalise.
My Strike Rate = 30% + for top Rated Horse
So I,ll ask the question .... Data Pragrammed Ratings Or Manual with Brain input
