In relation to the IAS site freezing - what web browser are you using?
I was one of those invited to beta-test the new IAS site and couldn't get it to work at all until(after talking to their IT people) I upgraded to Internet Explorer 6.
Now I have no problems - even on an O-L-D machine using Windows 98.
