Default The Ocho's Black Book

Hi guys (and gals?).

I've started a black book at the R&S site to possibly find a winner or loser and after some success last Saturday 19/5/12 I thought I would record my results here (until I start losing and then I won't post on this thread anymore).

Last Saturday I bet in 4 races with 2 horses picked in 2 of the races. So 6 horses were backed and ended up with 3 winning races for a profit of +16.95 units after commission on Betfair (betting $1 per horse). Winners were Playwright at $9.80, Eraset at $13 and Rock Hit at $1.48. I also backed them for a place except for Rock Hit winning +1.71 units.

I think it was total beginners luck as I've never been any good at picking winners with my only real forte being trading where it doesn't matter what wins or loses but I thought well why not start a thread about it so I can gloat when the winners come in or not post when they lose.

Two horses are racing today at Sandown:

Race 5 No 6 Permission - First off I'm not sure about this one as it came 4th last start at 1200m and to be honest I'm not sure if it was tiring or looking for more distance. I'll assume that the trainer knows what he's doing (after all it's Peter Moody with Luke Nolan aboard) and I'll back it each way.

Race 8 No 4 Kallogg - Came home nicely for 3rd in a 1600m event and I thought it may be looking for a longer trip but the trainer has entered it in a 1500m race. Oh well, I'll back it each way.

Outgoings - 4 units (for me a whole $4 - hey it's only early days).
