I was thinking about all the different ways there are to bet.. Personally I am a WIN only bettor with the occasional FF AND tri.. The reason I pose the question is that having a look at my figures so far for this month (July)

I have been concentrating on the back half of the each card in the metro areas,or when metros are taken to the provs.. using a smallish bank and 50$ bets. I have been betting win only but also following the same selections at 10 W + 40$ place.. The difference is astounding. Win betting is by far and away ahead..

There have been 98 races for 23 winners for an average Win div of 5.52$.. Just backing the top selection at 50 straight out I am a modest 1445$ in front.. BUT betting 10W+40P with the same selections I am 219$ behind.. that is a 1664$ turnaround.. To me that figure says a lot about our place pools and the take out the tabs take from those pools.. My figures clearly show that WIN only betting is the way to go... win and place betting seems pretty hard to beat the house take.. any comments?..
