W, my friend, you are missing one of the great joys of life.... now get your '****** up there ASAP.... weather is the key.... best place (in Vic) to go fishing weather wise - all year round is usually perfect.... has been for us (touch wood)
And should it get tooooo hot as it wants to do during Jan & Feb.... we get off the water early and in to the Mulwala Servicemen's Club for cold beverage and a punt 
You really need to get a Murray Cod on your line.... once you do that, you'll never go back.....
