Default Maria (Banded) staking - Did you know...?

Did you know we weren't getting the full picture from the famous Maria thread where she made 3,000 pounds into 100,000 pounds? Maria was actually using four bands not three. The un-mentioned band was 11.5 to 15.5 @ 25%

I've been playing around with banded staking for a bit and have added a fifth 16 to 25 @ 15% band.

I'm coming to the conclusion that Maria's bands and stakes suited Maria's selections but will quite likely not suit yours. You're best to figure out your own.

AP I think she mentioned another band in there somewhere from memory, but no mention of any figures.

Surely that is not 25% of bank???????????

Cheers AP, that definitely sounds better. ;-)

If it's not a rude question, how did you come by this info?
It puts a slightly different slant on her figures if this is the case.

Hi AngryPixie

My fading memory from the original thread was ---

that she mentioned the 4th band that her father was using succesfully, but that she would keep things simpler & not use it.

Good Luck with your now 5 dimensions.

Thumbs up

No worries AP.
I don't use her strategy but it doesn't hurt to understand it though.

It was actually our Ocho that prompted the response from Maria.

Hahaha. Thanks AngryPixie for posting that link. Small world isn't it?

I'm no longer tying that - as a matter of fact the old grey matter doesn't even remember what I was trying. ops:

I'd be suprised if Maria's bands and percentages fitted what you were trying to do anyway as I mention above.

The power of banded staking in my opinion is the ability to ignore bands. As an example with the selections I've been testing this on all my laying profit comes from the bands

2.00 to 3.15
6.60 to 7.60
17.00 to 25.00

The gaps particularly 7.8 to 16.00 are big lay losers.
