I was huge on Efficient and to be honest I don't know what to make of his last run supposedly he pulled fairly hard as he never got cover or atleast this is what I heard being said by Steven Arnold, I still feel he is as good if ot better than the horses that contested the Turnbull on the weekend the inside was a complete no go zone by that race on the weekend and he was there all the way, I really wonder whether Haradasun was truly disadvantaged by travelling deep in that race as it would have been better to be out there covering some ground than it would have been to be on the fence look where the 1st few across the line came from all down the outside.

I was a bit miffed about Efficients performance too.
I spent fifteen years in merchant ships trading worldwide and am no stranger to vaccinations, they invariably make you feel lousy.I think that we are going to see a raft of odd results in the near future. |

I find it hard to fathom the big "push" for Efficcient last weekend. It must have been a street corner tip,as every man and his ****** were barking it.
Steve Moran & Alf Matthews both tipped it as a special. What rot these highly paid morons dish out to punters in the guise they know what they are talking about. The Turnbull(on paper at least)looked to be a race of many chances,so how anyone could possibly tip any horse in that race as a special is beyond me. Bryan Martin said(just before they jumped)"this is the race that shapes the Spring." God help us then. IMO Efficcient is not and never will be a 2000mtr horse. Williams has said all along it is being set for the MC,so IMO that wa s a fitness run,any $ picked up would have been a bonus. Barrier 1 didn't help,as all jockeys knew(it was R7)that the inside was a no go zone. Steve Arnold had no chance of getting out from that draw, and if you like it for the Cup,forgive it that run. Sack it at your own risk. Marasco is obviously sore, but couldn't win a Cox anyway. Only has a 400 mtr sprint at best, and to win a Cox you have to sustain an 800 mtr run. Haradasun to beat Miss F for mine. Devil Moon likely leader, and whilst she is on fire, she aint no Sunline. Off pace runners usually win the Cox,throw in El SEgundo(forgive his run too, wasn't that bad)I think the winner will come from those 3. No fancy odds though, especially if Miss F wins this weekend(as expected.) |

Hard not to agree about Efficient. The horse comes from behind, the race had no pace and the nag ran accordingly. Wait for longer for sure. Devil Moon's owners are paying the $100k fee to get into the Cox and it only has to run 8th [should be there abouts I reckon] to get most of that back.
The pace will be on in the Cox [a truly run race] and a lot of these 'stars' will be nowhere to be seen in the sprint home. Segundo still looks the goods to me as very few mares ever win the Cox which will be a big ask for Miss F. Marasco will come near last as he's proving to be useless beyond 1600m! |

wouldnt think the turnbull will be much of a guide to anything with the track bias playing havoc with many performances

this race is looking more and more open everytime a WFA race is run none of these horses are unbeatable in fact i wouldn't confidently back any of them if i had a horse going anywhere near well enough to be there I would make sure I paid up which I guess is why they are going to pay up for Devil Moon

im confused with miss finland's defeat. she battled to the line well and was obviously never going to win. it looked as thoiugh she just couldnt sprint as quick as maldivian at the end of the race. what oim wondering is what horse has the actual ability to win the plate. on that run she can't. maldivian was many classes above. i think divine madonna has improved with every run and at this stage she would be my tip yet ive mentioned before i dont like her at moonee. i agree with the call on sipping he does look the value and although still decent odds madonna was odds too before yesterdays win. honestly i think Niconero is the horse that is getting set at the right time. but if anyone can confidently tip a horse to run a place you r full of it
