I'm expecting a big run from Satin Special in the last race at Mt. Barker tomorrow. Won the same race last year, has the same weight, and will be ridden by Alana Sansom.

Admittedly a better field this year, but she did win very easily last year.

Promising stayer Kyoshi, although not well weighted (imo), will still be hard to beat.

Sulo Warrior another with a strong chance. Just pipped in last years Mt. Barker Cup over 2000m. Later placed in the Albany Cup (behind Kyoshi & Satin Special) & then next start won at Ascot.

Also include (first4) Shy Wild, who stepped up in distance (1800m) last start at Albany, following excellent Ascot form. Made his run way too late on that day (imo) and was only beaten 1.25len.

Looks an open race El Gordo. Would also consider Special Jester and for that matter Warning Tune.

SJ is back in winning form and WT is a multiple city winner over distance.

The Mungrup Sprint is another interesting race, with both Jumallique and Face Your Fears lining up for their 3rd start in the sprint - Jumallique winning in 2002 and Senate Lease lining up for his 2nd tilt.

Not to mention some other promising types in this race, including Bletch Magic & Jarnot.

Looking foward to both races.

What about the topweight - NOTHING BUT GOLD fellows – I think an EW chance.

In the sprint the MERCURY HALO of old would brain them.

NOTHING BUT GOLD will have it's admirers BettyBoop - ex eastern states performer. Not sure why it is top weight, 2nd in prize money to Special Jester, has won a few in country WA since it's arrival, but stepping up in distance for the first time.

Agree your comments re MERCURY HALO, has been a bit dissapointing since his first couple of starts this campaign.

I like Stockie's Yarn & Jarnot in the sprint. Senate Lease & Mercury Halo also amongst the chances, which are many.

Just to confuse the issue even more fellows, I'm going to include (9) Chucka Khan & (12) Little Miss Madam - race 7 & (5) Mirror Moon - race 8, in my multiples.

Good luck to all having a bet at Mt. Barker.

Yes, easy win to Chucka Khan in the sprint BettyBoop. Task made easier with the late withdrawal of Jarnot, who was my top rated. He'll keep till another day

Warning Tune just pipped Satin Special in the last. Almost the double to Alana. Your prediction almost came off El Gordo - bad luck. Warning Tune is a bit of a in-and-out customer, but on his day, not a bad neddy.
