well if i could make one criticism of the comp its the picking horses 2 days before they run, i.e. thursday.....i do my form on friday so i haven't really got the winner in mind, plus there is often changes to fields etc. so it can be a hassle not knowing who to pick

Well, that's the challenge.

The original reason for that rule was that it makes things much easier for me to run the comp. But even without that, I still think it's a good rule, because it makes selecting your new horses tougher than if we all did it on Friday night.

to me the challenge is to pick a stable of runners that you think will go well in the future (i.e. later this season), and to add runners you like when a feature race is on, but i find it hard when i haven't had a close look at the runners. anyway, just me thoughts
