I laid at 4.70 and lost about 100 dolars, I am from Turkey, and so I didn't have a chance instead of believing you, I believed and I laid

At the end of the day, Chuck is just giving his opinion. If you choose to follow it then it is on you.

Nobody has a 100% strike rate.

The fact that it had been backed from 10 into 3.5 should have triggered something to at least ask the question, 'Should I go with Chuck and bet against this horse, or should I jump in the queue and back it with every other man and his dog...?'.

many of the people backed the horse before 30 seconds ago, I laid it about 1 minute ago, and within seconds the odd of the horse fell down, I tried to cover, but the game was closed. so I waited for the result. and the result was tragic.

I am not accusing Chuck, of course it depends on me to believe or not, but something bad smells for my nose, because it was the LAY OF THE DAY, do you know the day man? there are 18races without Ouenbeyan. I have been betting to the races in Turkey for 9 years. so if you asked me the horses which ones should be laid in Turkey races, I would never give you a favourite horse as a pick!!!

still am not accusing Chuck...

The horse was still $7 on Betfair when the bookies had reduced it from $10 into $4. It was obviously backed for a stack, and these were the odds with about 5 minutes to go before the race. This information was on my computer, via the internet. Why didn't you know?

You got 1 persons opinion on his Lay of the Day. The shorter price for the horse, the better the tip. I will give you a tip. Lay any horse that is over 100 to 1. They hardly ever get up. I can guarantee you won't make any money though..

You are obviously on the internet, you have access to most of the information that we do.

You think that you are very good on the form in Turkey races, then why are you putting money on somebodys tip in a country that you have no idea about regarding horse form.

You trusted somebodys opinion, lost money. Get over it, move on.

spyhunter,

I feel for you buddy. I think BJ is wrong in this instance.
Those of us who have been around this site for a while would know to take a Chuck tip with a grain of salt. Not worth listening to. In fact you are probably better off doing the opposite. Chuck has done nothing wrong legally but morally he is wrong. To come on a public forum with such a certain "Lay of the Day" is irresponsible and is the reason that "tips" forums are a waste of time and very misleading. We will give Chuck the benefit of the doubt and assume he did not back the horse to win. However, to come up with that horse as the Lay of the Day out of all the horses that went around on the day....well??
The horse had only ever had one start and failed on a HEAVY track whereas today's race was on a GOOD track. The horse has an astute trainer as well. Therefore there had to be some considerable doubt as to its credentials for a Lay. The professionals backed the horse for a fortune whilst the mugs thought it was a LAY.
You may have lost money but you have learnt a very valuable lesson - do not take notice of any "tips" on this site or any other site. It is a waste of time and potentially a waste of money.
I will hear people say, "Oh but at least Chuck had a go". Wrong again! It is meaningless to tip on here because those that know will definately ignore the tip and those that don't know (like spyhunter) will probably lose their money.
It is a no win situation. "Tips" should be barred!!

I really don't want to get too involved however i will say this:

I am sorry that you lost your money Spyhunter, but thats the downside to this sport. The only issue i have and in Chucks defence, Spyhunter did you not ask Chuck for a tip today?

Tommorrow is another day and with a bit of luck you will make all your money back again and plenty more i hope.

What part of what I said did you disagree with exactly? Seems you claim for me to be wrong, yet backup what I said.

Spyhunter claims to have been doing well on the punt for nearly a decade in Turkey, yet doesn't have the intelligence to stay away from laying the biggest plunge of the day on a tip on a public forum.

This is a public forum where people post their opinions and ideas. Not a professional punters advice forum.

Some people have more money than sense.....

When you're in the industry you get Tips left right and centre..if i got chuffed at every tip that lost i'd be a nut case and these tips are from owners , strappers ,trainers ect..
Tips on these forums , in the paper , services or off the drunk down at the pub should all be taken with a grain of salt..
If i get a tip i just dont back it..i study the race ,, make my own decision..

Chuck not only listed his lay but explained why .. which i think is brilliant..

This is why i dont pay much attention to Williams or Xpt tips becauuse they are just listed...even though i think they do a great job..
But when Mr Ed or LuvsBet or Chuck list a tip and why ,,i always investigate it..

When tipping i think thats what you should do ..because sometimes you've pointed out something thats been overlooked by people ..noticed something in the horses last run or anything..

Eg..the other day a few good judges were on Grandway Shogun and explained why..i didnt rate it to win but because of these judges i had him in my Tris and 1st 4's..would of maybe missed it otherwise..

In the end its your money ..your decision..and ultimatly your fault if you back someones tip without forming your own opinion and doing the necessary study..

I'll be hypocritical here because the other day i got a tip from some one in the know that Shellshocked would win..he was very confident..i had the horse rated about 5th or 6th...it came in exactly that and i lost...the lesson is ...trust your own judgment .. sometimes you need this kind of kick in the butt to wake you up..

again am saying that am not accusing Chuck, but I have given an advice.

To BJ;
yes am good at Turkey races, but my country's races are not in Betfair, so you don't have an option to lay. You can only bet exacta, trifecta and toteboard(the last 6 races' winners). so if our races would be in Betfair, and if you asked me which horse to be laid as a LAY OF THE DAY, I would not never ever give you a favourite horse and also never ever the odds as you told 100 to lay!!!!!

I'm accepting I lost money but it wasn't important for me too much, because I earn more than it. The only problem for me that LAY OF THE DAY!!!! it is a very very pretentious topic! so am new in this forum and I can not know who are good or not at tipping, but as I told LAY OF THE DAYYYYYYYYYYY, still am not accusing Chuck as I told, so YOU move on your way gay BJ!!!

Spyhunter
Perhaps the best thing for you to do is follow the discussion on this site for a while until you get the hang of how things work. That way you can get a feel for what is going on, what makes sense and what to avoid.
