I think Vouvray will be best suited for the Caulfield Cup actually and she is my pick to take that out, Railings is a roughie I like for the Melbourne Cup it might be a year early for him but you never know, He is certainly bred well enough to get the 2 miles by Zabeel out of a Palace Music mare.

Raw,
I was of the same opinion re the Caulfield Cup,but Peter Moody has stated in the press up here that he does not care about the CC,he is setting her specifically for the big one.Maybe a smokescreen???Or maybe she could win both??Big run the other day,I had 20x20,she came from a long way back to run about 5th.

Angel

Could be a smokescreen don't know she will get into both races with not alot of weight on top and has to be a serious chance to win either if not both of those races I just felt the 2400m might be more up her alley then the 3200m could be wrong though.

I thought hers was the best run of the day the day she returned really hit the line nicely.

Hi Duritz,

What an excitable character! Hope you can keep a lid on it with all the big races coming up. Just a few points ...

1. I didn't say MD was only a wet tracker. Please cut and paste my quote if I am wrong. What I said was she'd be the best of the locals if the tracks were rain affected. I'm fully aware she broke a course record at Flemington on a good track but so did Winning Belle on the same day. I feel her most dominant wins against quality opposition have been the 04 Melb Cup defeating Vinnie Roe and the 05 BMW beating Grand Armee - both on rain affected tracks. She's excellent on all types of tracks. I believe she has a greater advantage over her likely opposition this spring if the tracks are damp. Read carefully next time.

2. Makybe Diva has never contested a St Leger. You are confused.

3. MD has only won 2 of her last 12 starts on good tracks which is clearly below her overall strike rate. A noteworthy stat.

4. Don't let fly with condescending arguments particularly when you base them on things I didn't even say or allude to. Doubly don't let fly when your argument is backed by "facts" which are erroneous. And lastly, don't get out of your league.

Yeah not St Leger - you know the race I mean though. Hopeless with race names.

Will agree to your points, bar the last: don't get out of your league? Bit of an assumption there, a bit of a smug one too. You don't know what my "league" is, and if you did and you thought I was out of it, it would still be an arrogant thing to say.

Your post was reading so well too, I was agreeing and thinking "Yeah I was a bit hasty in my proud defence of MD", until I read that last bit.

Aah well.

Re Vouvray for whoever it was who tipped her - weights will be the key there. Big day Thursday.

The great mare powers on to further Group 1 glory this preparation. She ran an outstanding race today and after making a last-ditched lunge at Lad Of The Manor on the line just failed by a small margin.
She is right on target to emulate her Group1 success of recent years.
If she succeeds thay should decree a special holiday: "Makybe Diva Day."

Cheers.
