Well, I would have been here sooner, but I felt like I had walked to sydney and back when I got home and just wanted to crash!

What can I say. By 4:50 my nerves were shot to pieces... But what can I say. Wild Queen is one hell of a horse. Wet, dry, Long, short. Handy barely covers it. Cataclipse held on well for 3rd and Verb was a bit of a surprise getting up there.

But, I had to watch all that on the replay, as I didnt even know who won the race when it was over. I was naturally watching my horse.

With My BB, 9th is even better than I could have hoped. She was certainly not shamed on the day, and I just couldnt be more proud of her right now. What can I say. She was taking a step up in distance. This is the first time she has seen a muddy track, and she was coming to the end of her prep. A mile in the good may have been easier, 1200 in the mud may have been easier, but she slogged it out with the big boys yesterday. She put in everything she had, and then some, refused to quit even when she probably knew she should. She may not have won,or even run into a cheque, but she once again proved she is more class then people give her credit for, and more heart than style.

When Jeff brought her back to the saddling yard, she was completely wasted. Even after race 10 was run she was still sweating up and wound tight. She just refused to quit and pushed herself too far, despite Jeff trying to ease her down in the straight because he knew she couldnt take it. Lady is going out for a spell now, and for her own good, wont see the 1600m any more. She gave us every sign she could handle it, but on the day, showed us it was only because she point blank refuses to quit, whether its good for her or not. I will let ya'll know how she has pulled up today when I hear from the manager, and I hope she, or I, didnt kill any bets. But she put everything into this race, and did better than I had dreamed.

So refreshing to see an owner who loves his horse so openly. She sure did you proud and she'll reward you with a few winners cheques soon enough.
Good Luck and i'll let you know when mine are running around the place,,
