Topsy I have to ask what the hell was Beasley doing to leave it as late as he did to switch course and go after the leaders just gave the horse no chance for him to get as close as he did was amazing, I would dare to say that switching course as late as he did could have cost him about a length.

in the case of grandazz he was 28day/14day starter which wins 17.2% of 1400 metre races (pattern i mean) the most successful pattern.
turaga was also 28/14

not sure of the moderator's attitude to advertising the book.
it is one that i bought a few years ago which has all distances and time frames and percentages of wins e.g. 35day/14day/7day patterns and the distances they are applicable to.
it is very good . published by barrymore publications.
