First-upper (3) Elantone Park looks a strong chance in the last at Pinjarra today.

He has performed creditably 2 of 3 first-up starts, the other he had excuses when trapped wide most of journey higher class at Ascot.

Won a Belmont trial over 1000m earlier this month.

Finished midfield but well beaten. Interestingly started 2nd fav so it seems I was not on my lonesome in expecting Elantone Park to perform well first-up.

W.A. Guineas winner Cape North returns to the track this Saturday at Ascot.

No doubt he will be well fancied and did win first-up last campaign. But this time around has had a setback or two and no trials that I can see. He also has to lump 59kgs. Think I'll just watch

Don't be misled by the poor first-up stats listed for Show Biz Kid..he has rated well first-up on a number occassions although not finishing 1,2or3..

In addition both Show Biz Kid & Deuxieme have trialled well recently..
