From a systemites point a view it was a bet in many respects, in fact I sent Darkydog a copy of a system just a few weeks ago for which it was a CLEAR selection, another system that I posted a while ago was simply any horse that won it's second last race, but then finished 5th or WORSE last start. of course then you start on the filters, but under rule 1 it's on!

But also 77% place record, first up record and distance record all could not be sniffed at. Not to mention it's in the top 6 (Tab 1-6 with a win in it's exposed form)

And no....... of course I didn't back it!!!

I'm only new here but this is the second instance I've seen lately of people sending Darkydog their winning selections/systems.

Why is this and can you send them to me too please

Sometimes we don't want to post systems on a public forum, as it reduces the odds if everyone uses it, and often these systems are pinched and sold by unscrupulous people.

I have contact with quite a few people off forum, and we toss around ideas and help each other out.

I never share everything with everyone, but am quite happy to share ideas to trusted individuals who have been part of the forum for a while.

It works both ways though, for example Darkydog has sent me quite a lot of info and given me his opinions of various strategies and profit loss breakdowns.

I would love one of them to sell one of mine,....i could brag to my mates all day (only joking)

Who did it, if you can give a hint,...ill shun them if they are ones i use.

I too have contact with forum members privatally and all of the contacts that i converse with are awsome, never had a problem and are more than pleased to help.

Saying that, i appologise to the lads if they have been trying to email me, my service provider went bust, so no internet, now im trialling an unwirred set up, not sure if its going to work well.

Can't give specifics, one instance was another website with a forum, two instances were racing magazines.

I'll tell you why I wasn't happy....

Sure, it's good to have something published or be recognised, but my ideas were to be shared for free with other members of this forum. I did a LOT of hard work, put in a lot of hours of research, and thought I'll share a few things.

When someone crawls out of the gutter and grabs it claiming "they" put in the work, it's "their" idea, then I get mad. To make matters worse, they don't even have the decency to acknowledge what they have done. Or even give mention that the idea was from another author - me.

On top of all that they are making money off something that was shared for free in good faith.

It goes even further, but won't burden everyone with the gory details, but they tried to tarnish my credibility - unsuccessfully.

When your timing is off and you turn the ignition to try and get a spark, you naturally get a backfire, especially when the carby is full of fuel.

A very appropriate analogy.

The only hints I can give are:

One is a washed up magazine that churns out repetitive stuff that always loses and tries to get new content. They can't think for themselves to make deadline, so scan all racing forums and pinch whatever sounds good.

The other is a young buck trying to make a name for himself in the industry with his merry band of followers, who are blind to what he's really doing.

I can support Chrome Prince's position regarding stolen material as I have alerted him at times to such theft.

As these forums are public there is nothing that can be done about it.

It is unfortunate because small ideas planted into someone else's head can produce some great ideas.
