Exactly. It was quite amazing really. All the way through, despite being behind for most of the game, the Australians still actually believed they could win it. Whereas it seems that all along, England was just hoping for a draw. If England had simply been more positive on the last day, there's no way Australia would have been able to win the game. The English run rate was pathetic. They didn't seem to realise that the one way to ensure they didn't lose was to actually score some runs. Just 2 an over probably would have been enough!
And I agree about England's first innings. A couple of important points there. If Australia had batted first and been in a dominant position like England was, then I'm certain they would have scored at a quicker rate and probably made around 650 in the same time that England scored 550. And I guess you also have to credit Warne a bit there. His defensive tactics on day 2 that people were criticising probably forced them to declare short of the score they actually wanted. |

Stayed out of this match as adelaide oval is a 5 cent coin, batting wicket.. Thought this game would be decided on the toss...
if you got $ 4.00 for the draw thats nice... I just put Australia in a multi but its looking like thats dead.. I still have the feeling that England wont win a game.... Think the aussie price fits the bill on paper. |

Okay, what the hell's going on??? Surely England couldn't actually lose this test after scoring 6-551 dec!!!
![]() This morning, being the incredibly cautious "always take a saver" type punter that I am, I actually decided to cover myself by throwing a small bet on Australia at $13, just in case there happened to be a HUGE English batting collapse. But I have to say that I never actually expected it to happen!!! ![]() The draw is still a big chance if Harmison and Anderson can stay in with Collingwood for long enough, but if any big professional punters jumped on at the price of $1.01 this morning, then they're probably just a bit nervous right now. England could still win this. If Australia keep playing reckless one-day type shots and get themselves out (like Langer just did), they could collapse in a heap.

Jeez it was going to be a draw for all money! I can't believe how easily the poms crumbled. A good finish coming up, we are currently just above the required run rate

Yes there is, 4.6 per over isn't easy to do without going for a few risky shots. We still have another 8 wickets up our sleeves anyway |

Geez, Hussey can sure play. Just a pity the test selectors didn't realise that before the last ashes series.
