Have pondered for days on this, so here goes after some more serious thought.

Equine Investor
TESTAROSSA, and
Big Orange

Gave serious thought to others including Paddy who it seems is in the spelling paddock (I assume getting ready to take on the lesser cattle after the Spring carnivals), and Magic Flute who seems to have quit after posting first successful week (wallet would have liked a couple more weeks MF, before you focused solely on making all that money for yourself)

Hmm, interesting selections Sandgroper! Must say the early form on Equine Investor and Testarossa has been a bit disappointing and Big Orange didn't even nominate for the big race.

Of course it is still early and late nominations are still being accepted so there is plenty of time for these runners to come good!

Do you think Hermes will be able to carry his impressive first week form into the Spring or is he just a one day wonder? Given he hasn't been sighted since that big run one can only assume he is carrying a minor injury or is resting up for another big effort.

Must admit my money is on the QTab system to perform well and Shy is putting in some very consistant performances, but the short odds could make it difficult for her to keep it going. Longbow was very impressive in the barrier trial a few weeks ago and I wouldn't be surprised to see him dash to the front at some stage if he gets a bit of luck in the run. And of course don't discount Becareful - he has had a lot of minor placings recently - if he can convert some of those to winners he could be a danger

Equine Investor had his preparation interrupted by a hoof bruise and the jockey slaughtered him in his second run from a spell. Won a recent barrier trial nicely but is looking for a longer distance.

Could be a good bet at big odds in wide open field!

Just to clarify. My (tongue-in-cheek) spring stars selections are the top three members of our stable forum who I am predicting will excel over the spring carnival, with their public postings of tips & selections.

Agree becareful that Hermes would be the warm favourite currently in the tipping competition. Seems to be resting on his laurels at the moment, but in the end will still have to pick full quota like everyone else.

Seems the tipping comp is going well. Does seem though that some starters may reach the tipping limit well before the finishing post.

Although not a starter this time around, I'm sure all contestants would agree with me, the great job being carried out by EI and becareful in the background.
