A Win bet using level stakes, but only with Betfair because of the superior prices.
As a matter of interest, the Neural Method has now snared the winner of Sun Coast R4 No.12, and also the $230 quinella. I got the winner at $65, however on Betfair S.P. it paid an amazing $130. |

A losing day - it lost $6.90. Even though it struck 6 of the 7 winners they were unfortunately amongst the fancied horses.
There have now been 239 selections for a POT of 7.9%. Neural Method, Today won $39.00. There have now been 76 selections for an unrealistic POT of 78.90%. Tomorrow I won't be looking at either system because for the past 2 Saturdays the normal method only broke even, and I've never really been enthused with the neurals for Saturday racing. |

I made an expensive error yesterday with the normal system. Muswellbrook R10 was a qualifying race but I missed it. The selections would have been nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 12. No.1 won and paid $16.70 on NSW and $14.70 on Unitab. I don't know what price I would have snared it on Betfair but if it had been $12 or better, then the method would have shown a profit for the day's betting. This will not be included in the results. Its disappointing but at least the system shows promise.
Out of interest, if I was to include Saturday racing in the system then the selections would be: Rosehill: Race 4 nos. 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 10 Race 5 nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Race 6 nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, Race 7 nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12 Caulfield: Race 6 nos. 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11 Race 7 nos. 5, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16 Race 8 nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 13 Eagle Farm: Race 7 nos. 1, 3, 4, 6, 8 Race 8 nos. 3, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14 Morphetville: Race 8 nos. 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 10 Moe: Race 6 nos. 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 11 Race 7 nos. 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 10 Gold Coast: Race 6 nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 Race 7 nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9 Kembla: Race 8 nos. 1, 3, 4, 6, 10, 13 Total outlay of $92. I'll be having very small bets on them so that I will know if it is successful. Last edited by michaelg : 19th July 2008 at 08:34 AM. |

So for example, in your selection:
Murwillumbah: Race 3 nos. 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 You'll place 7 single win bets? Thanks! Quote:

That's correct, but only with Betfair.
As a matter of interest, number 6 won for a profit of $2.80. |

Thanks michaelg,
I'm definitely missing something here...which I guess is how you determine how much to bet on each horse. On your selections: Murwillumbah: Race 3 nos. 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 Wellington: Race 7 nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Race 9 nos. 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 Outlay of $20. You have 20 selections...$20 outlay...does it mean $1 per selection? My apologies for my stupid questions... Thanks! |
