Thanks for the feedback all, I've decided to take Chromes' advice and sign up with aanet, question: how do I know/find out if my Modem is suitable for adsl2?
all it's got on there is speedtouch and I've had that one for about 2 years? Last edited by partypooper : 20th September 2008 at 03:03 PM. Reason: spelling |

Speedtouch I think is Siemens but not sure, could be Thompson.
Is there anything on a silver sticker on the base? You can find a program to upgrade the firmware to ADSL2 on most modems without having to fork out for a new one. But do it with caution and remember that all user settings will be wiped out.

Looks like you modem is ready to go without tinkering, just ask aanet to help you set it up step by step.
Make sure you have filters on all live phone points in the house, the most common mistake I see, is people put a filter on the line to the modem, but don't put it on other phone points.
