Thanks Darky,
It did seem as though something was differrent about them but I had no idea what.
Has anyone tried the 'Best Bookies' site?
I haven't read the terms and conditions yet but the blurb says no fees and multiple bookies to choose from.
On the surface it seems benign.

Thanks Raw Instinct,
You and Darky have given me some food for thought.
I'm looking for something simple where I can bet a few hundred to a few grand on saturdays.
At the moment I'm only betting for a win so I don't need anything complicated.
I've never used online betting and the simpler the better.
How to go? Fixed price, super or top fluc.?
I would think top fluc. but I know very little.

Gnarkley, one aspect of Betfair you might want to consider are their fluctuating prices.

The prices are recorded somewhere on their site but these are the prices at, or just after each race. However, it is my understanding that they do not show the highest and lowest traded prices. If this is available it might be intriguing to look at them.

When comparing Betfair prices with other betting agencies/features it might appear that Betfair prices may not be really competitive as would be hoped. This might not necessarily be the true picture, especially if the price firms at the death. This could be also true with Best Fluctuation but my Betfair experience shows that B.Fluc tends to firm at a greater rate percentage-wise than Betfair.

There have been numerous occassions, even 30 seconds or thereabouts before a race when I've had a bet, only to see the price move dramatically.

Angry

And just to make things a little harder, if you're a consistent winner they now slug you up to 25% per week of your profits. They call it Premium Charge, everyone else calls it theft.
