Nice barrier for Ortensia , she needs to be outside of horses and she'll get her wish on Saturday , Hot Danish nice and fresh from a good barrier is suited.
The Fat and Whobe will need some luck . Mic Mac is coming into form and will have the drop on Hot Danish. Its also his grand final so he should run well. I dont see a stack of speed in this , Hot danish could have it her own way leading or near the lead. |

I'm guessing the people who have backed PR want the showers we have had today to hang around.

As of 10.15am Saturday, now a slow 6 and raining.
A very tricky race. My top 3 are: Hot Danish, Melito and Mic Mac. Danger - Shellscrape (3 from 3 in the slow, won at the track and at the distance) To be honest I think around 7 horses have a chance. If whobegotyou is fit enough and Rodd doesn't slaughter it in the running then it's always in the reckoning. I know Phelan Ready likes the conditions but hasn't won over more than 1200m which is a concern for me. A few people think he'll run it out judged by his support this week. Breakneck speed, Ortensia gobbles them up. It's a minefield! Best of luck to all!! The Schmile |

I've backed King Mufhasa. If the rain continues, think Ortensia, Phelan Ready and Shellscrape the biggest dangers. Then you've got the other mares incl Russeting a rough place hope. Whobegotyou hates wet but classy and Red Lord should be running home well in prep for the Straddie
