I didn't have time to do the ratings today due to being at work but I have just done them and although it was after the fact, the ratings kicked back today well with on top winners at Bendigo including:

Friendsinthefield $2.90
Lizawi $3.40 (equal top rated)
Close The Door $19.40
Prussian Dancer $18.10
Lonhrielle $3.50
As well as 2nd top rated Magic Crest $10.30

The other meetings saw a few on top winners and many winners rated 3rd or 4th. The biggest paid winner was at Grafton and while it wasn't listed in the overall ratings, Catchions in Race 6 was identified as a likely improver and duely won at $34.00.

Saturdays ratings will be posted on my site tomorrow as I will be unable to do them on Saturday, if anyone wants to know thw web address you can email me at mat at sportofkings dot com dot au, all ratings are free. If time permits I will start posting them on a daily basis.

Cheers,

Mat.

Just consider this.
All handicapping is done on past results. The handicapper is restricted to what has occurred and not what will/can occur. Most ratings and systems are based on history. The trainer has entered the race based not on the past but on the future. The trainer is saying that the horse has improved and or the past results were circumstance. Hence merit for improvers. Then we have to deal with multiple improvers and the over run horses that got close this time but no guernsey. Beton

I am not listening to them. According to each of them, their horse has improved and is going to win and only one of them is right. And that is most likely the horse that actually has improved. Beton

A horse doesn't necessarily have to win to improve, several times I have identified a likely improver that runs around at big odds due to recent performances and runs a place to pay better than $5 and sometimes $10.

Cheers,

Mat.

There are a few trainers that speak the truth, Peter Snowden is one.

When he says a horse will improve, it generally does.

Gai is a hype machine and it's hard to fathom what will happen when she spruiks a runner.

Moody = Genius. Don't listen, just back.

Most of us that persevere do so because we've had some success in the past, although my style of betting years ago in the UK was very different from now, I was successful,...... not because of some incredible knowledge of Horse flesh, or "inside" information, but an uncanny "gift" of being able to spot the cheeeets!

Not as obvious now but its still there! but how you handicap for cheeets I don't know!
