Yeah Puntz, you do need a sense of humour in this game, especially when you have a bad day. I had a shocker today. Geez, some of the stupid betting decisions I made. :roll:

For learning American horseracing, There are several good primers, and as already mentioned, Beyer is one of the best. I would go to http://www.DRF.com and read their free offerings and http://www.turfpedia.com/books.html I myself started with a book by Bill Quirin, aptly named "Winning At The Races", then graduated to Beyer and others. The DRF site, aka Daily Racing Form is the tool most US handicappers swear by (or at).

Glen.I found William Quirins book
WINNING AT THE RACES COMPUTER DISCOVERIES IN THOROUGHBRED HANDICAPPING a classic for American races.Most of my early speed and on pace ideas originated from Quirins research. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for this inqirer. Cheers. darky. |

Quirin's research greatly affected my thinking also. Good material for American racing.
