![]() I cringe when i hear a horse i like are specials or late mails, sure they have a good strike rate but their odds are slashed and they are rarely value. And on an earlier post someone said back a place if two tipped it + late mail, i dont like punting to win my money back, it is a joke how many people listen to these tips. If you are not willing to do the form involved and just back other peoples tips, why bet? it cant be fun, and they're never value. Shane Templeton however is very good, by far the best tipster in Melbourne, you'd be better off taking his tips rather then the Late Mail.

![]() Can understand your cringing, Mr Ed; but there can be some good returns. I have just made a post on the "Stop at 2 Winners" thread.
In 55 races yesterday and Wednesday where there was Late Mail given on Unitab, many of the place returns were paltry; but there were two at $3.80; one at $2.80; one at $2.10; and quite a few in the $1.80 - $1.90 area. I realise you are probably talking about returns for the win. I can't give the figures in that case; but I feel these figures are interesting. |

![]() I know what you are saying Mr Ed about backing other ppls bets, when i get the form guide on fridays i wont consider the favourites in there. If it comes down to not liking any other horse in the race i wont bet.
