Not bad at all. I had the quinella with Regal Ricky. It's just a pity Paua to Burn or Bogie Leigh didn't get up for 3rd.

Tonight's leaderboard:

Dugga11 : $176.60
Sportznut : $157.00
nulla : $149.20
Moeee : $116.00
Whist : $32.00
Oaksnaf : $16.00

Congratulations Dugga11. Not a bad result considering it was your first post on the forum!!!

I'm obviously doing something wrong as I picked 7 winners from 8 races and still didn't win the comp.

Yes Sportznut.
When I saw your selections this morning,I thought,"Gee this bloke sure has learnt heaps in the last 4 weeks!"
And I suppose the key to winning comps is more money on less selections, rather than less money on more selections.

Yeah, I guess that's the secret Mo.

Still quite pleased with my effort though. Actually, I nearly got a perfect 8 from 8 as I tossed up between Just Sincere and Jasmine Princess for my 8th selection.

Mind you, most of them were pretty short though. I've found in the last few weeks that you can find some dogs which just appear to be absolute certainties. With some of them, $1.50 or $1.60 is good value and I'd hardly ever think that about a racehorse.

Can I tell you this Sportznut!
I think it might be about $1.50 just to get around the course without being belted by another dog.
And usually the result of a nasty check is another loser.
Trust me and keep away from the shorties.
I suggest that thoroughbreds may be a better place to invest your money carefully,if you wish to attempt odds-on.
And by the way.UNITAB price was poor on ZYRTEC last night.I had $25 on it at $7.50 to make my night a small winner punting wise.

Geez Sportznut your being a bit hard on yourself, 57% POT if you could do that every day of the week you could soon retire to sunny Melbourne. Disappointing the small number participating in the comp though, over 200 views last week and only 3 in the comp and over 150 this week and only 6 in it. Seems like the punters must be looking up to get your tips and not bothering to enter the comp, keep up the good work you must be getting the hang of it. I've been following dogs for years and am still learning, trouble is when you get to my age you begin to suffer from old timers disease and forget what you learned last week

nulla,

I was just joking around. I WAS pleased with it and yes, I'd love to turn $100 into $157 every time. It's just that most of my winners were quite short!

I'll keep going with the comp next week, because although there hasn't been a huge response, I'm finding it quite interesting and I'm learning a bit more each week about the dogs.
