Didn't have a go at that trifecta there as I thought it was too open. Just had a small each way bet on 3 & 6.

My big win of the day was Brisbane race 6. Good old Mardi Gras. I was VERY confident about her chances. Got half the trifecta and a quarter of the first 4. Also got the first 4 in Melbourne R6, but that really wasn't too hard.

Shedding down the bottom finished well last start and is bred to run all day..bryne on board ...these 2 should fight it out..
*Taxable Income S/C r1. another horse i've been following ,Ric gets the ride back tomorrow and seems to ride this horse best..He's a one paced type of horse but against this ordinary lot should get the lead and fight them all off..his run a few starts ago racing wide was full of merit..looks a good jumper in the making imo..

*Catchadane. Gosford r2..horse is flying and has good form around some excellent horses..i like the freshen and drop back in distance..good jock..
has to beat the toppy Centre fire who i rate the only danger,,
*Wallarah Boy..Gosford r5.. really like this horse...had no luck last time but hit the line hard..is rock hard fit for this and from the inside barrier looks a reall good thing..won at the track before . gets alot of ticks,,

Should get a price out of 2 of these 4..
others i like are Onions Gosford r2 and Miss Celia Nowra r5.....

Good luck tomorrow guys

Nice win on Catchadane ..missed with Walarah boy 3rd ...1 from 2..
didnt back Sigrun ..just wasnt sure about the heavy track..did have a slab on though..thought he did well ..still has alot to learn but has a future..

Taxable Income scratched ...onions 2nd to short...nice win with Miss Celia,,like this horse and maybe should of had more than a slab...but rules are rules ..

can't argue with 50% pot....very happy with the 2 only selections during the week days,,..seems to be working

Hi Guys

My 2 for tomorrow

*Acinonyx.. Scone R7.. this Catbird filly isnt bad..last win although awhile ago was very easy..Has had a couple of trials to get ready for this and hasnt been extended in any of them..She's a 4yo with only 2 starts so i'm guessing she's had some probs..the 2 trials suggest she's over them..Robbo on board which is always a good thing except not for the price we'll get..
theres a couple others i dont mind in this race..Taxformer looked good last start and Miracle Fred has ability aswell...
If acinonyx is to short and if Robbo has had his usual dayout she might be....I still think it will be a good trifecta race with the other 2 mentioned..

Cool name isn't it ..means Cheetah in Latin..just has to win with a name like that..

*Lester Cove..Orange R7.. ..has a wide barrier ,,big weight and a chick jockey...not my usual go but i just loved the way this boxed on last start with exactly the same..except the jock..
Races well 2nd up ,, actually beat Blinkin Quick awhile ago which is pretty good form he's won 7 from his last 8 races,,....Lester should come across from the wide barrier and race prominent which is always good here and in these type of races..
The distance maybe a worry but he looks to of come back stronger this prep ..
should get nice e/w odds about him..,,i thought Billigaboo a big danger..

Didnt mind Dark Centaur ..in the big race at Orange..forget his last run but before that pushed juerga to the limit..consistent horse who just needs to jump well to win this..

Good Luck All

(sigh) I only get 1-4 at Scone and 1-3 at Orange.

Quiet in here today

where were you Sportz ,,Glenn needed your help..

Lester Cove ran a huge race to just get pipped on the line...was hoping for better odds but a win is a win.shortened a stack though on ias ..wasnt my little $500...missed the tri ...follow this horse he'll win a few this prep,.,

By proccess of elimination Tax Former won ...and paid around $3 ..nice collect and i thought good odds with the toppy and Miracle fred out.,,got only half the tri as i got a litle greedy with it and needed Shades of steel for third or 2nd..

Good day just the same...keeping up this streak on the week days..been very consistent..whish i could be more consistent on the saturdays where i just seem to jag the big collect to save me..

hope you guys had a good one

Yeah, sorry about that, Glenn. Had some other stuff on, so didn't get much of a chance to look at them today. Didn't bet at all (apart from Brian's trot tip ).

Not a problem, Sportz. Everyone has other, even better things to do. I didn't get rich, but I held my own.

Regards,

Glenn

Acinonyx raced Sunday...just watched the video..missed it as i saw Onions as good thing but odds on..
She raced well ,,finished 5th ...in the straight she shifted out and the winner and Onions sandwiched her and squeezed her out the back,,,she was never extended and wasnt touched with the whip....worth keeping an eye on..

Confident about Chevron Island today...alittle concern over the gap between races hoping there isnt any probs...my mail says there isn't.. the form is good
and races well fresh....

Thumbs up Good Luck Maverick

"Good day just the same...keeping up this streak on the week days..been very consistent..whish i could be more consistent on the saturdays where i just seem to jag the big collect to save me.."

make the most of it Mav..everything seems to run in cycles, esp when on the punt professionally..

I usually get nervous after several consecutive 2nds, because they usually go on to form a drought devoid of winners. My theory on that is that some of the short- half- heads etc that go against you were horses that should have been your winners.

I had a horrendous run with 2nds recently..the worst I can ever recall, and it can be very trying when that happens bet after bet after bet...Prior to this I had a run of winning photofinsishes..it all evens out

Last week My Best Tycoon turned the tide by winning by a short half head for me at good odds, instead of losing out in a photo and running 2nd, but my confidence had not still not fully recovered. Then, on Sat. Kananda Queen came from 2nd last to win by a head.(Thank god for sportingbet and their Maxidiv on sat metros... if only they offered Maxidiv on non metro and midweek). How that horse got out to $48 is beyond me..

After three good winners I feel that everything is back on kilter for me and the horror run has ended...until next time...

I wish you all the very best with your venture into full time punting. yep its fun alright and you will have grand days and weeks where things don't go wrong. You will also have times when you wonder what the hell you are doing ,as the pendulum swings back to level things out and the photo finishes and jockeys do their best to screw you..

Savour the good runs and keep your sanity on the bad ones..and I dont care how high anyone's strike rate is , I'm sure every professional punter (and jockey) has periods when the runs of outs far exceeded their expectations and calculations... It's not the financial dent, but rather how your head handles it that matters...it can be real battle of wits and no one can really prepare you for that.

When turning full time it can be very tempting to look for bets, and attend meets that you really should have stayed away from..at least that's what hapened to me when i first went full time. With no friends to play with during the week, the track and its regulars can easily become your friends and family and lure you to attend meetings you otherwise wouldnt go near...
My suggestion is to make sure you have some off course, non- punting friends to play with during the week.

If attending meetings, keeping oneself occupied between races can be a trap also..esp if you have a selection in r2 and one in r8 and nothing in between. You have to fight the urge to have play bets, each too much, or worse still, contemplate a drink...Discipline, discipline discipline....

All the very best to you Mav..you are taking yourself to a higher level that very few people ever reach. Enjoy!

Good Luck everybody
