Yahoo!

Ended up having a good bet on Precise Timing, because I thought he was pretty good value actually. Also had savers on Cold Start and Rue The Saint. Then I heard the betting report just before the race and they mentioned that Beale Street had been quite well backed at good odds. Well, I added him to my trifecta and look what happened!!!

Didn't take a first 4 though.

Gday Mav

I am not gunna claim Beale Street... ( i didnt hear of the "plunge" on him mentioned elsewhere) but he is an old Joe Pride runner with a bit of form around Sydney (lower class races) and the Provincials... It wasnt impssible to include him... ( I didn't) I backed Rampant Lion and saved on Precise Timing so no harm done.. How good is this Taree horse in these country cups?

Yeah, know what you mean.

I'm definitely going to have to think about going wide in the cup this year. In the past 3 cups, I've had 1,3,4,5,6, then again 1,3,4,5,6 and then last year 1,2,4,5,6.

2nd day in a row that my tips have gone shocking in the night meetings. As it is, I never risk too much money on night racing, but it looks like I might have to forget about it altogether!!!

I wouldnt be too concerned about doing your doh on the nite meetings.. they are notoriously hard... I had a losing day all round... ( jeez ya dont hear that on here too often) .. but that is the nature of the punt... there will be 80 odd races to choose from tomorrow, and we should be able to find a winner or 2 from that lot.. dont forget they pay you in the same currency for the winner of the VRC Derby as they will if you pick the winner in R4 at Dubbo.. Good luck to all

Back on board today for my favourite day of racing.... giddy up..
Mav, seen in the other thread you picked oahu, well now that its scratched feel free to unload on soveriegn miss. Its my mates horse and its run at caulfield from a crap barrier was full of merit and will bolt this in today in a much easier field. If the rain persists (meant to be clearing up) he will be a late scratching but very confident with this.
In newcastle watch for a massive plunge at the track in race 5 on cheap as. Know the connections here and has been set for this, Id reccomend taking fixed odds early where possible as it will be sure to tighten in late.
Ascot race 1 eugene blue in his first race is set for a big one. From all accounts has been looking the goods in track work and should be around the mark. Other selections in adelaide are some kinda storm in race 1, and facilikate in race 5.

Mav, you would be pleased to know Ive just bought into another 2 horses, 1 is a colt (18 months old) and is closely related to MERLOT NOW, the other is a filly from akhadane, which is starting to produce a few winners..... Both un-named at this stage but will keep everyone informed..

Good luck to all for a great day of racing!!!!

Oops, missed one....
Race 1 in melbourne.... pirate island. Super run last start doing his best work late. The exra journey here suits him to a tee, and will be sure to be running on late. Its an adelaide horse and there is certainly a bit of oil around the place for it.. Hopefully this can set up a good day early....
