The 1st, 3rd & 4th were easy to pick. And I was listening to Deane Lester and Roy Higgins just before the race and I think they BOTH picked On A Jeune as their best roughie for multiples. Did I follow the advice? Of course not.

So true Maverick..its the one race per year that I have a go at the tri..and I try to include 5 yr old geldings and also proven distance winners, and On a Jeuene got in on age.

usually throws up at least one longshot in the 3. as for Excellent well he was all the rage here in NZ... i just wasnt prepared to spend the extra dollars to get the tri. as well as the quinella.

Sportz is also correct about On a Jeune being the mounting yard tips...they were both pretty keen on him.

If it wasnt for the Cup quinella, Hillfa and Windom I would have had a crappy day. as it turned out I had a beauty...followed my hunch and double dipped on Hilffa, only to find later that I had in fact bet a unit more than I intended. When the gods are smiling everything is fine.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I was able to back On a Juene for the place, but never had a multi with 1,8 in there.

THe Geelong cup has to be a great form guide for the Cup other than the Caulfield, i mean look at Media Puzzle.

Hey Mav, at Grafton Herab Biscay was a horse i watched a few weeks ago and it should have won. SO ill also be on it today.

That race has always been well respected by my peers as a great form line ..

Good luck today Maverick and Oaksnaf..I'll be watching with interest. and trying hard not to give away too much of my recent spoils on silly bets.
