Revisited.

Well , I took the trouble of joining up with this NT mob [no account deposit required] and I must say I'm impressed with the layout, speed and especially with the simple payout options: 'Best of three totes' any day, any type of bet and any race meeting.

Their live tote feature is great, all three on the same page [no border adverts] and you can bet to jump with the super-fast bet sheet [they use a pop-up 'flash' rather than a new page to bet]. Their race select page [full screen width] also has no border advertising and requires no scrolling. You can instantly see any race and the jump time order. Slick.

Best designed site and bet options I've ever seen and no bull, 'best of three' all the time. Leaves AIS and Sportsbet for dead.

Well done manygeese. Thanks.

That's not correct Crash, Betezy rules state the following:

60. All Australian Gallops dividends for clients on the best tote service are paid as following.

1. Win bets - Not less than Unitab, NSW and SuperTab final dividends for “City” Gallop meetings. Not less than NSW and Supertab final dividends for “Country” and “Provincial” Gallop meetings.
2. Each-way bets - Not less than Unitab, NSW and SuperTab final dividends for “City” Gallop meetings on the win component. Not less than NSW and Supertab final dividends for “Country” and “Provincial” Gallop meetings on the win component. The place component on each-way bets will not be less than the Unitab final dividend.
3. Place bets – All Place bets are guaranteed not to pay less than the UniTab final dividend.

When it comes to place bets, there is no contest Sportsbet offer the best!!

Yep La Mer your right,
Just off the phone to them. I grilled them and no, Santa did not come down my chimney !!

I tell you what though, sportsbet could learn a thing or 2 from ezybet about site layout and ease of use. Speed of use too.

Didn't realize that my self. In the main bet on the nose Saturday. Did have a place bet once and reckoned they hadn't done it right. Now I know why.

Anyway they suit me. Been with them six months and still haven't deposited a cent. The day will come though because I'm a pretty dumb punter.

Manygeese, yes an easy mistake, but as I bet mainly for the place the divi is crucial, even getting $1.20 about Air Race on Saturday instead of $1.10 is essential 100% more in fact. But interesting to hear that you recommend them for the win bets.

After giving the site a whirl yesterday, I'd recommend them for the win bet too and that is my main bet. Place betting is only something I get into now and then, but get quickly bored with it. !x4 or 1x6 ew ain't bad though and that's what I'm messing about with a bit lately, but my place segment is wagered with sportsbet.

Default Bet Types

Evening all,

I'm with betezy and they continue to make improvements with their website. Even on a dialup, it is reasonbly quick.

My only grizzle is that WA is not considered metro when it comes to City meetings. Disgraceful really.

Regards, Swoop

I'm sure you can Party. Problems though it doesn't matter where you bet if your a winner they will sack you or restrict how much you can bet to win. As low as $50 max [to win $50] in one case I know of. No such problem with the tote because it's not their money you win it's a % of the prize pool.

During the Sydney carnival did anyone read of that 86 yr old bloke that stagged up to a tote window at ranwick and plonked a green plastic rubbish bag down on the counter and wanted a $100,000 win bet [not sure of the race, or horse now] and a $10,000 2 horse quin. They counted it out and he had $113k, so 12k went on the quin and 101k the win.

He won $505,000 on the win bet but the 2nd horse for the quin came last. A no questions asked bet. Theoretically he could do that every day of the week if he was lucky enough at any tote window. Try that with a bookie or any of the NT mob. They wouldn't accept even $100 bets if you were a high % winner. They only want mugs who mostly lose or [almost] mugs who win a bit, loose a bit and muddle along at best, but don't cost them money [like me and probably a few others here].

If anyone thinks that one day they are going to be living off the bookies [what do you think they are, mug punters?] is living in LA LA land. Betfair and TAB only. Ok, you'll get a little less divvy off the TAB's [who cares if your that good?] but at least you can legally do it. Kerry Packer could have really big bets with the bookies because they all knew he was a mug punter who mostly lost. The bookies just shared out the risk with each other because it was worth their while to do so. The Casino's welcomed him for the same reasons [although he scared the hell out of them a few times].

Lot of sense in what you say there, Crash (Isn't there always? )

Convenience, ease of betting, etc., etc. are all part of the deal. The extra few percent is worth having; but it has to be balanced by quite a few factors --- as you noted in your post.
