A ride on a well-backed favourite at Warwick Farm had me pulling my hair out, running into everything and anything before punching through to lose by less than a nose.

No offence, but do you think this qualified as a 'well-judged ride?
I am just trying to provide a balanced appraisal of riding performance(s).
So far, it qualifies for the "barry" award of the day.

Cheers.

i hope you didnt back this horse. any horse that is odds on especially in the country are a big no no. on level stakes betting over the past 3 years in the period of august to december there is no more winning jockey than this guy mate. besides all jockeys can ride bad races. unfortuantly brad has ridden a couple of bad ones so far this year, but hey who cares when he is consistently winning on double figure prices? and how many horses do you see travel 3 wide in small fields? id reckon 90% of fields less than 8 runners there is always at least one horse 3 wide. i think the barry award should go to those who bet on odds-on horses in any race! cheers bm

appreciate your comments too by the way. and love reading your thread too. reminds me of clive robertson.

G'Day breadman,

Your comments were well said.....and well accepted.
I realise that jockeys are only human and have their good/bad days but unlike most of us, their decisions carry potentially $100k's or even $M's of punters' investments, therefore, they are accountable and scrutinized for their actions.
I am interested in your comment about country racing....what were you suggesting?
In respect of the Clive Robertson comment....que?....as Manuel would say.

Cheers.

why are these horses racing in the country? because they are no good. and im sure they would only be carrying about 20k of punters money too.

clive robertson was a very funny man with a dry sense of humour. your thread just reminded me of him thats all. i actually used to look forward to watching him he cracked me up.
