Another thought to consider is "how much last weeks run would have taken out of a few of these"
Like the Slipper programing and qualifying conditions are different this year.. The 1st 2 past the post in the slipper had a light late prep into the race... Maybe we should be looking more at Serious Speed ,Forensics,Snipers Bullet the later 2 the more fitter.. |

Mav I can understand why people have a wrap on Mentallity, I have always been a fan of the horse I just do not feel he has come up anywhere near his best and will carry 57.5kgs on what looks like it is going to be a slow track at best, Ground in which I feel he is questionable on. Beadman is a master and it is hard to go against anything he rides but as it sits I couldn't have a spot in my quaddie for Mentallity and would want to be including quite a few horses in my trifecta for him to be there, That is my choice whether it is a smart move or not remains to be seen.
I also question Sniper's Bullet at the trip but would be more inclined to think about including him than Mentallity. As it sits right now and these are not my final rankings or anything but I would have 1. Hot Danish 2. All Silent 3. Forensics 4. Serious Speed 5. Gallant Tess 6. Eskimo Queen I know i have gone for alot of the girls there but they are going to be weighted to be right there at the end of this one, I am close to making All Silent my top selection I see real sense of timing about this bloke with not alot on his back he seems to be equally comfortable on top of the ground or with cut in it and lets face it his half sister was a sensational race horse whether or not he is as good as her or not remains to be seen but he certainly seems to have atleast recieved some of that scintilating turn of foot she had. |

Triple Honour's last run on April 12 was a shocker, BUT if you get a chance have a look at the race closely.
Newitt missed the start on the horse couldn't make up his mind whether to go forward or not at least 3 times, never got any closer than 4 off the fence ...... Absolute shocker of a ride. I thought Waller was putting Jay Ford back on the horse but it wont lose much under G Boss. Definitely include in your exotics whether you like the horse or not. frogs |

Ok, just had a look at the form and i think i've narrowed it down to 7 chances, Casino Prince, Eskimo Queen, All Silent, Friday Creek, Forensics, Hot Danish, Serious Speed.
Traditionalists will say that the Doncaster mile is a very tough one and the winner needs to be a strong mile plus runner rather than a sprinter/miler; and i think this could be true this year what with all the goings on with the track. This puts Forensics in a tricky situation, from what we've seen in her last few starts she's got home okay but shes up against some some good milers in a big field and i think is susceptible. similar situation for All Silent, the randwick mile is the query and i think it could be outclassed. Friday Creek is an interesting one, placings in group races last 4 starts, it just can't seem to finish off, but over the odds and a good place chance. That leaves 3, Casino Price, Eskimo Queen and Hot Danish. the first two have proven themselves over bigger distances, Eskimo Queen a derby winner and Casino Prince running a good third in the Australian Cup. Hot Danish is an interesting one, proven over the mile (including a gp2 at randwick last prep) and drops a stack of weight from last few runs. But i'm going with Casino Prince as my top pick, been in outstanding form with a win in the Gp1 Chipping Norton at the randwick mile over Tuesday Joy, and a good 3rd in the George Ryder behind Weekend Hussler (superstar) and Racing to win (former doncaster winner) in the heavy going good luck |

The track is going to make it very hard for everything in this race, if the race is on the track looks as though it will be one of the wettest tracks to be raced on in modern day racing. Anything can and probably will happen, I am happy to be on who I am cause I simply can't pick anything I would want to back on this bog they will race on.

It will be a heavy 9 or 10 I think.
It might be a wrap for either Triple Honour [Boss 7] or Hot Danish [Clark 1]. Danish is a mid-pacer and from B1 might get lost in the pack and will need luck. Boss is on an on-pacer and is a better big race rider Also has a good gate. |
