Thought this was appropriate as to the naming of this thread.
Mystery punter takes advantage of price error Nic Ashman - 14/07/2014 The Sydney Morning Herald has reported one TAB punter was offered odds of $2250 about Good Job Bro running a place at Doomben on Saturday. The TAB put up $9000 about Good Job Bro winning and the punter quickly seized the opportunity to back the John Sargent-trained horse for the place. The punter locked in $12 at $2250 and when Good Job Bro hit the line for third he collected a cool $27,000. "It was an error when the prices were put in manually and our policy has always been is to pay on the price that customer has taken," the TAB's Glenn Munsie said. "Good luck to him, I'm available for a drink any day this week with him. There was only one punter who got the big odds as when the bet came through it alerted the attention of the trader to the error." The Herald went on to report that $9000 is the default price for a scratching in TAB fixed odds markets. Wasn't me unfortunately. Cheers. Garyf. |

I picked up some big mistakes on TAB a while ago and they were refunded the next day. I don't mind that they were refunded, mistakes happen, but to go around tooting that "our policy has always been to pay"... |

Punter finds $1000 winner
FLYING Aurora delivered the ultimate knockout in the third race at Bendigo on Thursday, **except for one lucky punter. After starting the despised outsider at $370 on Betfair, the Leon Corstens-trained three-year-old missed the jump and was backed at the highest possible odds of $1000 in the run. One punter parted with $6 to pocket $6000. The horse started at $41 on the TAB. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/s...5-1227000774043 Lol, the poor soul(s) that layed it have a little work to do to balance that book |

It could possibly have been part of a trade for the losing party.
They never reveal that side of it. I doubt anyone would risk $6,000 unless the horse lost it's rider or fell over. I've seen a few trotters gallop at the start lose 20 metres and still win, horses miss the kick and still win. It was a Heavy 8 track over 1400m, and we all know swoopers in the wet. The horse had secretly trialled in blinkers and was wearing ear muffs, although it's public trials and past form was bad. Trainer got a warning from the stewards for poor performance and horse was reinstated 3 days before it raced
