Nice to double your money for the day..
thought Shady did the best she could...the difference was the jockeys..you could bet your life that theres no way if colless was on Shady that he would of let Elite ted out of that pocket and would of made him go around not opened it up for him....lesson learnt for little Poulus ..great ride by Colless hes in a nice purple patch of form.. Still got work to do to catch up from the last 2 days but i'm going in the right direction .. Last Wednesday was huge ..hopefully tomorrow will be the same,,, a few nice betting races around.. |

Hi Mr ed ...watched the replay of Civils race and you're right he was unlucky Leckey just had nowhere to go....thought the run of Nedrullah also stood out .. if you've still got the replay check it out ..

Mr Ed,
I like to follow your tips, but Civil has won 2 of his 24 starts. Not exactly the sort of strike rate I'm too keen on!!! I admit he's been very consistent lately, but he's let punters down quite a few times in the past. Are you really confident??? |

..sometimes with those sort of horses they get that winning feeling and put a few wins together... you'll see a trainer start his horse out in the sticks in a easy race just to get some confidence for them,, usually that horse carries the grandstand but usually wins..
its a mental thing obviously with Civil as he doesnt often run a bad race..his last win was fantastic and the 2 runs prior were good also (beat Wise as an owl in one of them who won well the other day) he's full of confidence now. I'd be keeping an eye on him.. another one like this i've been watching is Taken at The flood ..this horse had huge wraps on it and he recentlly ran in a class1 the other day..winning of course,,he then went to town last week end and ran on fairly well from a bad barrier and tempo..he seems to of regained that something that was missing and might win a few this prep.. |

Have a few tomorrow.
Sandown * Super Mario...i liked the way this horse finished off last start..he really knucked down afer missing the start...with the claim and in the hope he jumps well ..he'll be hard to hold out..first time over the 1200m and i think being an Octagonal it suits him down to the ground...doesnt seem to be much in the race but these types of races are usually fairly hard...hopefully i get nice e/w odds because there are a few here they might spec. * Johny Be Good,,,beat Madison lane easily last start,,and thats good form..i think the drop back in distance is good also..not conviced this horse is a stayer..if he leads here and dictates he'll be hard to catch..he has a problem settling in his races but the from the inside he might be able to just roll along.. *Stratagee Gee ... this horse is a speedy type with good 2nd up form ..although not in this class...but her run last start was strong and she should lead or possie up nicely here..might be a bit short for me ..but if i get some sort of price i'll be on... Sydney *Delta Eagle...going through the grades nicely..harder here but hes flying ...likes to get back and run on ..and theres some speed in this race.. should be nice e/w odds..as the toppy has class and they might go for it.. *Olympic James...not a world beater but the tempo set up by Gloire should suit him...he'll get the nice run and if gets clear could surprise at odds.. nice last run from a mile back against the tempo...Publicity Stunt is another that will be running on hard.. *Skittles...i love this horse...not just because he has a good record but by the way he fights in his races..he's been good to me,,and its a tough race so i might get some odds about him..little Fuji has been flying.. Brissie * Papunya and Scared the 2 hawkes runners look good here...wish i could be on track to see them ..Papunya's last run was fantastic but scareds only run was good also..trialled only average but Hawkes never works them in those things anyway...the tote will lead me into one of these.. Adelaide * Gorilla Biscuit ..go to far back last start..bungled the start...has a nice barrier and should be close to the lead..the distance will suit and the way he finished off last start looks pretty handy....Leckey is always a plus.. * Brakenbury Bill...this horse has been real good to me in the past...needs it longer but usually sprints well fresh..if theres alot of speed on could run over the top of these.. * Claretoum,,,won nicely last start..Micks got this horse flying ..like to follow mares in form.. * Lair .. poor old Lair ..he deserves a win ..great run last start from the bad barrier..hopefully gets a better run here even though he has the bad barrier again....i said i'd stick with the poor thing till he wins..so im suporting him out of pity...this is a harder race than last time ,,but you just never know.. Hopefully i'll get some value here...fingers crossed .. good luck all |

some good racers around 2morrow and im going in with confidence. Rain is expected in adelaide, storms, possible hail etc so I should get rained off at work and head to gawler. Doomben race 5 Not a blunder gets his chance here. Im going to give him 1 more shot. Ive been on him his last 4 or 5 starts and always get your moneys worth, he looks well suited in this field and there should be a bit of speed on early which will only help his chances. Ive got no doubt at all he will be flashing home late and providing he is ridden well should be around the mark at the post. Im still spewin he lost that photo 5 runs back paying over $100. Should be still in peak fitness and Ill just about make this my bet of the day.
Looks like I may be leaving melbourne alone at the moment, although have had a couple of winners there of late. A couple i will be looking at is Huck finn in race 6, hes had a bit of a freshen up after two solid wins over this distance. Bit harder here but should give it a shake. Serene prince looks ready to win race 5, hes had a couple of handy runs his last couple against some quality horses (wouldve give ed a scare last run) has been placed over this distance at every attempt and looks a good thing. Moving on to adelaide, and the weather may play a part so beware of the stinkers. Im not a real big fan of the gawler racecourse, but will have a go anyway. I like double spirits in race 7. Hes up to his preferred distance and his latest runs would suggest hes getting closer and closer to a win. Has won 2 from 4 attempts over this journey, got johnson on board with the claim and has drawn well. Only concern for me would be the weather. If it really comes in Ill maybe have a couple of savers on jazzy gina and cryans colleen. In race 8 I really like a couple here, maybe a target bet could be on the cards. Bellanto ran a good race last start not that far behind general conclusion and beat next now the start before that. Going on those two runs alone is enough to put it right in amongst it here in this much weaker field. The other one is covet in gold and there should be a bit of value. A good friend is involved in this horse and smith is pretty happy with the way hes going. He needs to race with a bit of cover, and if he is ridden to instructions should be right in it. Loftily looks well placed in sydney, boss has got the ride and should once again be there-abouts. Wont be taking anything too short though. Hope we all line our pockets to prepare for what looks like being a great spring carnival.

I love them. As you may be aware i am a big fan of maiden races, ussually their winning strikerate is not that flash either! Mav hit the nail on the head in his assesment, this horse is full of confidence and absolutely flying, haven't studied the race to much yet but it will take a good horse to beat him, especially if the track is wet. He didn't escape the handicapper, but that probably speaks volumes of the class of race he's in. Did like Nedrullah's run Mav, he may need a confidence booster himself however, been very costly to punters this prep. Good luck getting off work tommorow L2B, what trade you in mate? My brothers a roof tiler absolutely loves heavy tracks. I'll leave the races alone tommorow, not to keen at all. Melbourne metro races are really boring me of late, i love me provincials, and Adelaide is good. Clean'em up tommorow gents, |
