Maverick ive already got my compass right i think,or is that a horse named after me.Have an interest in a horse in that race so be interesting to see stewards report as we were pushed out to theoutside fence, not sure if jockey went there by choice though.

Thumbs up

Couple for today.
Sydney race 2. really flying. Iwould imagine there will be a lot of money coming for sunah here, but think the toppy might be able to get over the top of him here. Looks a two horse race here and really flying should run very ell after a freshen up.

Ive really liked the last two runs of corowa and maight take it with really flying in an all up. Anything around 3's is good value for either one of these imo.

Moving on to adelaide, and its not going to be that easy to find winners there today. Its always hard comparing form from different states, the "invaders" make it awfully tough. The weather here is perfect now after some late rain yesterday and overnight. Should be no problems with the track.
Race2. Howdy ken the one for me, outpoint the obvious danger with white foil capable of running a good race

Race 3. cant go past flame of sydney here, might take a REAL DEAL trifecta with this one, looks extremely hard to beat. Watch for any money on cinque, bit of a whisper around.

Race 4. Theres some decent form in this race. Been impressed with birdbrain but dont think he'll get the distance here. Marju snip is in the same boat, not sure about the mile and too short for me. Gonna go with the toppy, back to a suited distance, won 2 starts back well in reasonable time over the mile and was doing best work late last start. Looks very well placed here.

Race 5. Was on play to win last start, but this looks a bit tougher but can still win. Going to with almost never. Had no luck last start and lindop on board, drawn the inside, should go well.

Race 6. Ill be all over lord volksrad here. Runs great first up, been waiting for him to come back. Im glad my mates horse soveriegn miss is scrathed, its made my decision much easier.

Race 7. what a tough race, good one to watch. Black Tom is proven over the trip, and the draw certainly helps him. Massive ask for tubular bells but does look a smart type. Break the barrier looks well suited and zengo could suprise at odds. Like Ista Kareem, might have an e/w here and a few multis with the ones mentioned. Not the best cup field we've ever had.

Race 8. Tonz more fun for me. blahnik will finish well.
Race 9. Running out time here,,, gold chime or special voyage.

Good luck today guys and girls, off to the cup....

Hows this for a story....
A fly was annoying the cr.ap out of my mate yesterday, its landed on his leg so hes belted it with his form guide. The fly has ironically stuck right on the name of a horse which was about to jump in melbourne. We've both put 100 on it. The horse was physique and won easily.

I'm having an e/w today on an old favourite of mine Grand Merlot ..should be about 50/1 ...
dont think it will beat the toppy but i do think he could place in this field and add some value to the trifecta..

also thought Caulfield Jim hard to beat in the 4th..
